    Basic question about HTC mobiles

Had my HTC Desire HD for over 3 years now and it's performance is tailing off - battery life is not brilliant, and at times it just reduces very fast for no real reason. Restarting the phone takes about 10 minutes which is a pain.

When my monthly conract ended I decided to keep the phone and just pay a SIM only charge each month - thats saved me a bit since the contract ended 10 months ago.

Anyway, my question is, if I bought a HTC One outright, without signing up to a contract, could I simply transfer the SIM from the Desire straight into the One and it would work fine?

    Try this:

Contacts Importer - Android Apps on Google Play

Also, if all the contacts have been saved to the sim then it should be fine. I made the mistake of saving it all to an outlook file which I do not use anymore.

I'm not sure it would work - iirc desire hd has regular sized SIM cards and HTC one has a micro SIM

There are pre-cutted SIMs, so going from a regular to a micro is no problem. If it's not pre-cutted, you can normally go to one of your operator offices to make a copy of your SIM to a new one, with all the data.

I switched from a sluggish HTC One V to a Feiteng H9500 that costed half the price for a better screen/speed/brain cancer/...

Got the HTC One as an upgrade - they sent a new micro SIM card (you were right Kamal, they differ from the Desire one) and I'm all installed and ready to go.

I'm definitely getting older as it's taking me longer to work out how to use all of this technology!

Although do have to say that I'm very impressed with the speed of this new phone, the battery power and the size/shape of the device. Way better than the Desire, which at the time (just 3 years ago) was a superb phone. Now feels a bit prehistoric

I think that's the problem with most modern phones somehow the battery life just cant keep up to the super processors that are available these days.
