^Agree. Involver, Fundacion, and GU SF is up there as well for me. Sasha is more of a journey, better suited to dark clubs, and darker rooms. He's almost an neo-classical Floyd.

He used to be my idol, now I just think his music is bland as fuck. Last thing he did that was semi decent in my opinion was his mixmag cd from around 2 years ago, not the recent one.
Bland tunes and mixing isn't even like it used to be.
Was listening to this trafik set, and that is so much better then any sasha sets of late.
What's commercially viable and what moves people on a dance floor on any given night is not the same thing. "sasha" the brand is way more complex than his latest mixmag/involver 3. Billy Corgan said "you can create the most beautiful song ever, if it doesn't sell it doesn't matter." (paraphrasing) but my point is, unless you are literally a roadie for Sasha how can anyone really know how good he is at any given point in time? If he's created a lot of mixes that have inspired you than be greatful for that. Not all venues are the same, nor crowds, nor cultures, but I can guarantee there are areas of the world that right this moment think Sasha is amazing. So I guess what I'm saying is, if he's inspired you a lot in the past, why not keep an open mind now?
i loved all previous star gazing mixes, especially the early ones which had more electronica/idm/downtempo-ish tunes. but the latest volume is just big tracks from 2013, nothing special. if you compare it to sasha's mixmag cd from august it really isnt going anywhere. in terms of programming and building sasha's mix cd is far superior. IMO of course but his vancouver mix is pretty boring i must confess.
speaking of the leftfield album: never understood the hype. for me, the early works of fluke or LFO are more defining for dance music.

Oh. My. God. James absolutely obliterated the island tonight. The last time there was so much destruction, Obi Wan Kenobi had to take a seat on the Falcon after the Death Star said "hi and bye" to Leia's homeworld.
I got pics and video. But I will upload them in the morning. I need to smoke this nice phat joint and just close my eyes and replay the amazingness in my head.
Right, so it's an "album" not a "mix" I can call it a Fire Truck if I want to. the bottom line is It's stood the test of time and still sounds amazing.
Thought his 6 mix was excellent .. as was his MixMag CD from 2013.
Live Sasha doesn't get through enough new music : in many respects he'd be better delving into a back catalogue rather than plodding through an unrefreshed playlist.
His all night London set last year was great (first 5 hours) because he had to work hard and put together a lot of newer music.
Still think he's best at the likes of Space and fabric, and places that he's really up for (New York).

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.
