    Sasha is awesome

Anyone else feel Sasha's on a tear again? Some of the very best sets of 2013 I've heard are from Sasha.

    2 I really like.

he's up there as one of the best dj's that have ever lived but i feel he has been bored recently, its like he just doesn't have passion for the music he plays anymore... some sets are just the same tunes that you heard in the last set you heard... in comparison to the old sasha you would always have something new... i just don't feel the same way about this new sasha as i did the old... sorry this is just my opinion

Very likely when you're 3 of your sets are posted in less than 8 weeks. If you go back to 1999 there were plenty of tracks he played at the GU party in May that he was still playing in August.

i really enjoyed his last set, but then I didn't listen to the 2,3,4 or even 5 previous to that, If you want something new listen to someone different.

sasha is one of those things that everyone has a different opinion about. I found myself wondering if my interest in him was going away after the involver 3 debacle. But his fall/winter tour has moved away from the involver tracks and is playing some special club music. i went to see him at the end of nov here and its easily top 5 night out of all time. he demolished the place (at least i think). now listening to his recorded sets i dont really get that kind of vibe so id say his music right now is suited best for the club and not so much headphone music. you have to be able to tell the two apart to really enjoy his music because he will move from one side to the other quite often.

in short, his recent sets have restored my faith in him.

My friends that have seen him in San Diego and Output in NYC would agree with OP! Nothing to debate IMO.

It was fun while it lasted...

              Agreed.

He is a pioneer of the modern DJ, what he did change the way how DJ's are DJ's but he has been boring and I think after his Involver 3 efforts, something gave him a little bit of a kick in the back side.

You are right, but in this digital era
thats is something that cant accept,
I remember years ago I could hear "Barbarella"
in january and the same track
in december to close the year without problems,
and you know why ??? ..... The vinyls ......

The djs needed a couple of months
to print the vinyls, We knew it and
                      We accepted at that moment..

But now is completly different, when a producer finishes
a track on friday and is released on sale on monday.

We hear to Sasha for his quality and innovation but
I do not wanna hear the same track in every set.
may be two or three times is ok, but not the entire year
                      like the involv3r disaster.

Vinyl was certainly one aspect. Vinyl meant some degree of exclusivity. Before CDJs and digital music, you couldn't just copy a record or burn a new track to CD and DJ with it. Hell, I remember when I found good records at my local shop I would buy every copy just so other people couldn't have it. LOL Even if Sasha had a track and people knew what it was, actually finding a copy on vinyl might have been difficult. But today, tracks are ripped to digital format and send it around the globe via the internet.

Another aspect is that back in those vinyl days, we didn't have all of the recordings of live sets streaming across the internet in a matter of minutes after the close of each set. If you wanted to hear Sasha, you had to go to an event. And chances were if you heard him play in one city on a Friday, and then travelled to see him the following night on Saturday, you would hear a lot of the same tracks. But most people didn't do that. They would hear him one night, and then probably not hear him again for 6 months or a year. By then, he would have all new vinyl that you had never heard before. But from one night to the next, it would be a lot of the same music.

I also think he's back on top of his game and even though he doesn't change his playlist that often .. like someone said, it's because of the number of sets being recorded in short time span. This is nothing new with Sasha and has been like that since ever. Everyone does it, when i saw Nick Warren with my fellow ms'ers in November i knew 90% of the tracks! And it was still a freaking awesome night.
