    Release Notes:

    01. Maher Daniel & John Charnis - Lonely Stars In Open Skies [All Day I Dream | ADID005]

All of us here at ADID have been super excited about this release for months. Not only does it contain the gorgeous original mix from Maher Daniel and John Charnis that has been melting ladies hearts all summer long but we also have quite a superb remix. Luca Bachetti's Endless label is one of our favourites here and it was only a matter of time until we knew we were going to (gently) prize something special from his musical soul. His remix has caused a little bit of a stir. We've been bombarded on a daily basis with requests for it. Well, for all you bombarders, it's finally here. Initially we only sent it out to a tiny handful of friends and family. Dixon and Ame both played it in Panorama bar on the same night, and it's been a staple track in Lee Burridge's sets all summer. It never sounded better than at Burning Man festival this year and those lucky enough to have been there will attest to the mystical journey it weaved as it meandered out of the Robot Heart bus's perfect sound system and across the playa. One of it's most memorable moments, so far, for sure. Now it's time for you to create your own magic with it. The hardest decision you'll have to make is deciding which mix to play. Dream on dreamers.

    02. MANIK & Maxxi Soundsystem - Live You Love (Black Butter Spread Love Vol.3) [Black Butter Records | BLKBTR-SLCD03]

Taken from the forthcoming BB Spread Love Vol.3 compilation, featuring 23 exclusive tracks. Out 30th Dec 2013.

MANIK and Maxxi Soundsystem recently teamed up in this beautiful collaborative effort called “Life You Love.”

US meets the UK in this minimal but melodic tune — an interesting choice for label Black Butter Records. “Life You Love” is neither bassy, crunchy, or mean. It doesn’t thump as much as it rolls and it’s far from the more pop, garage-driven tracks we’ve heard from label mates like Clean Bandit, Rudimental, or Kidnap Kid. “Life You Love” is closer to a classic house track and is down right enjoyable to listen to. Catch the release on December 26.

Massive support from Rudimental, Kidnap Kid, Gorgon City, MistaJam, Target, Laurent Garnier, Jaguar Skillz, Justin Martin, Huxley, DJ EZ, Dimitri from Paris and more.

Black Butter is a fairly new but well established imprint. They primarily release singles but we can envision some long players coming our way within the near future.

This label has been moving from strength-to-strength since its launch in 2010, Black Butter supports the grittier end of the ever expanding bass-led scene with a distinct collective of producers under its wing, citing influences as broad as jungle, drum & bass, breakbeat, house, techno and 2-step, as well as ragga, dancehall, reggae and of course grime and dubstep.

The latest Volume includes releases from MANIK & Maxxi Soundsystem, My Nu Leng, Just Kiddin and a whole load of other Black Butter talent. You’ll find underground house vibes from Lokate, deep & sensual tracks from MANIK & Maxxi Soundsystem and bassy electronica from BNRY and loads more. Another well balanced compilation from the Black Butter crew.

    03. Ruede Hagelstein - The Landing (Native Aliens EP) [Souvenir Music | SOUVENIR061]

The Landing Hot off the heels of mixing the thirteenth instalment of Berlin nightclub, Watergate’s long-standing mix series, Ruede (real name Tobias) Hagelstein returns with an Alien-invasion, space-history themed three track EP for Tiefschwarz’s ever-reliable imprint, Souvenir Music.

Hailing from the rural surroundings of Berlin, Hagelstein is a longtime fixture of Berlin's music scene, arriving in the capital in 2000 and kicking off a DJ and production career soon after. In addition to his own releases through labels like Souvenir, Output, and Kitsune, he's released music with Fraenzen Texas as The Cheapers, a staple of the Upon. You label. Besides his keen and consistent release schedule, Ruede DJs regularly at Watergate, playing as a resident there since 2006.

Ruede’s new EP for Souvenir keeps in line with his unique, interstellar sound; three quirky, eccentric cosmic cuts which stand unparalleled by other producers right now. Step on board and prepare yourself for an interplanetary journey, expertly produced and navigated by Mr Hagelstein.

    [Ibiza Voice]

Ruede Hagelstein’s relationship with Souvenir should be compared to that of a pair of old lovers. Complementing each other’s behaviour in every aspect of their role, Ruede’s output has morphed, mutated and developed with the same intricate nuances as Souvenir’s remit. Just as his 2008 label debut “Modest Theme” mirrored the post minimal clicks and whirrs, this space-gazing EP reflects the softer, more progressive charms of the current creative displays by the Tiefschwarz imprint. This intimacy has been evident on every release throughout the five years that have passed, most notably on his 2011 album Soft Pack.

Like his recent Watergate mix, there’s a strong theme presented throughout. Paying homage to the furthest realms of the sonic cosmos, each of the three tracks takes place in deep space. Galavanting the galaxy with due detail, across the journey we enjoy a smooth take off, a bold intergalactic adventure and a climactic meeting of a close kind.

“Big Bang” plays the able role of the rocket launch. Not living up to its name in any way whatsoever, there’s no big bang at all. Consider it more of a soft, smooth uplift. Elevating further and further into the ether, it builds with progressive delicacy, humming the same arpeggiated riff with added elements on each bar. Arresting and captivating, it sets the scene for what follows.

“The Landing” places us on a misty planet. The environment is at once familiar yet foreign. Tyrant style bass textures establish the foundation as atmospheric pads envelop us in a foggy funk. Suddenly, an alarming vocal greets us. Instantly conjuring up Kraftwerkian connotations, the lyrical dedication to aliens is delivered with purring, alluring sing-along style. Referencing 40 years of electronic music with tongue-in-cheek charm, it’s the most pleasant outer-planetary experience you’ll hear all season.

Finally we get to meet this new space-aged species on “Native Aliens”. The encounter appears a little jarring from the off as dischordant breezes wheeze, moan and cry over a crisp synth bassline. Drama develops throughout as the strapping groove and processed FX both dynamically build. A silence ensues as our alien associates offer bellowing bass messages of peace. Unity is then compounded by a final salvo of elements, tying up the disparate elements of the track with the universally unifying glue of organ blasts.

A unique meeting with aliens and a majestically conjured trio of tracks, there’s still heaps of sonic romance left between Ruede Hagelstein and Souvenir. Check this out? You’d be Ruede not to.

    04. Crowdkillers - A Bees Sees [My Best Friend | MBF12109]

My Best Friend (MBF) is the warmer, punchy disco-house sublabel of Traum Schallplatten, the Cologne-based powerhouse run by Triple R (aka Riley Reinhold) and Jacqueline Klein.

We present here maybe the deepest Crowdkillers on MBF so far, but watch out massive baselines can do a lot of damage and not giving away too much can make you curious for more.

The EP starts with the "A Bees Sees" which is a well balanced and deep track almost MBF LTD like style. A slacker of a track that worships a feeling studded with samples and short sound inputs. The track does not build up any tension but by magic keeps up a good groove, with nice percussion coming in! We say thats great!

"Keep It Secret" contains a lot more urgent sounds in the beginning like an old school track from Blake Baxter's Mix records, if any one of you still knows that label. But in the course of the track it keeps pulling in elements you don't necessarily associate with the feeling happening at that time but it manages to make it all function and it grows on you step by step until it is an irresistible piece of deep techno! All that is really modern and will work fine with an advanced crowd.

"Steez Trip" slowly builds up taking much more time as "Keep It Secret" and is less musical, makes less stunts but keeps a steady groove that steers directly at the dance floor.

"Clique" is more of a nasty bass-line track in the beginning, pretty reduced to beat and little more. Occasionally dropping a chord and towards the middle the track opens up a bit and throws in some dark sounds. This could be a great after hour track, since it is really easy on you.

    05. Alex Flatner & LOPAZZ feat. Nick Maurer - Tomorrow (Purpose EP) [Circle Music | CIRCLE043_6]

The 43rd release on Circle Music comes from label boss Alex Flatner himself and for this latest musical excursion, the Mannheim based multi-tasking DJ/Producer/A&R/Label Boss is joined by his label friend and colleague LOPAZZ. Together, this exciting duo have already released their superb tracks on labels such as Cocoon, Pokerflat and Get Physical – now they are focusing on their true home, Circle Music.

Alex and LOPAZZ lock themselves in the studio at every available opportunity creating their musical masterpieces and every once in a while a highly interesting taste of their creative juices emerges – “Freedom Of My Heart” (Circle Music) and “Our Love” (Get Physical) being good examples of their studio chemistry together.

For this new EP, on “Purpose” they also present the unique voice of Nick Maurer, highlighting his soulful vocals backed by a catchy House track with a dramatic rolling bass. This is flipped with the more experimental, percussive Minimal track “My Amy” and the dynamic Tech House styled “Tomorrow”.

Alex Flatner always attaches great importance to ensuring that only the highest quality music appears on his label and with “Purpose” he has once again produced a memorable, classy, atmospheric EP. This release will also be pressed on black 12” vinyl for all the classical DJs out there.

    06. Raxon - Random Places [Unsigned]

Raxon has had his head deep in electronic music for over a decade now. A self-starter who soon rose through the ranks, he was regularly found in top clubs around Dubai. Soon after, one of the Top 100 Clubs in the world according to DJ Mag, namely 360º, became his regular home after the Audio Tonic crew installed the Egyptian as resident.

As a resident, it’s Raxon’s unpredictable track selection and ability to nurture the right vibes that have made him so well loved, spinning deep house and tech to adoring crowds on a regular basis. With hisreputation growing, Raxon has now played some of the region’s best events, including Creamfields Abu Dhabi from 2009 – 2011 alongside the likes of major players including John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo and Danny Howells. So too has Raxon played leading Berlin club Watergate and provided a guest mix for John Digweed’s influential Transitions Radio Show.

Before long Raxon was also hard at work in the studio fomenting his own unique sound. Since 2007 he has worked with respected people including Nick Curly, Tom Budden and many more. Recently he has signed to Moodmusic and Christian Smith’s legendary Tronic imprint with more new releases, and Raxon recently remixed Nick Curly's 'Underground', out now on Cecille, which Diynamic's Solomon has given regular play for months.

Whilst Raxon’s fan base and reputation continue to grow around the world, DJ Mag Middle East have been quick to recognise his efforts by placing him Number 7 in their Top 100 DJ Poll in 2010 and was voted Best Dubai DJ in 2013 by Time Out Dubai. But this is just the beginning, Raxon has so much more to give.

    07. Piemont - Definition (David Labeij Remix) [The Factoria | FACTO068]

Our favourite German duo,Piemont are back to Factomania Labels Group, on our main label again, The Factoria. Two originals 'Definition' and 'More Than Once' with remixes by David Labeij, a solid producer with a lot of hits on labels such as Kling Klong, Moan, Mobilee, KD Music, Nite Grooves, among others and Spencer K, new rising young star from France (Bouq, Time Has Changed, KD Music, Bla Bla).

To consolidate their rising career as music producers and Dj .Frederic and Christian said about the name of the EP release : "Even if we have mainly released 'peak-time' Chicago tracks so far, we have always had preference for smooth, relaxed, less pushy house tunes. 'Definition' might be our first tune in this style that will appear on an EP but, in fact, this release is not the beginning of a new Piemont sound. It was always our aim to vary the style of our songs. We are very happy to have them in our catalogue again in this end of the year, 2013 has been the year of PIEMONT."

More and better for sure the over next year!!

    08. Bambook - Give It Up (Alex Nagshineh Remix) [Faceless Recordings | FR003]

Bambook is the collaborative guise of Swedish producers Eiad Sayegh and Hannes Netzell. A duo who over the past few years have racked up a string of releases for some of the leading labels in electronic music, namely Global Underground, Get Physical and Circus Recordings, covering a broad spectrum of styles but always with the focus on the dance floor. Here they join the Faceless Recordings roster, following output on the label from Climbers, Jon Charnis, Balcazar & Sordo, and Directors Cut (Frankie Knuckles & Eric Kupper).

Kicking off proceedings is the original mix of ‘Give It Up’, a tripped-out, peak-time workout fuelled by a gritty saw wave bass hook, sweeping rhythms and smooth, blossoming pad lines. The duo ride this groove out for just over six and a half minutes, keeping the groove in an ever enticing state, while the emotive, Nu-Disco tinged vocal lines drive the musicality and modern appeal to the record. Following we have a rework from Cocoon, Supplement Facts and BPitch artist, Chaim, who shakes things up a little with his interpretation, flipping the vibe into dark and dubby realms as he brings raw drums to the forefront, bubbling atmospheric pads and warm chords then add an understated beauty to the record, while the vocal lines are processed into a psychedelic cavernous state with expansive reverbs.

The A.NAG reshape steps up next, stripping things back to a refined minimalistic state, with loose, rugged beats, as looped vocal snippets, eerie bass tones and fluttering arp-lines meander around them, again putting the mix on a mind-bending, experimental tip. Label head Silky teams up with My Favorite Robot’s Jonny Cruz next as disCerN, the duo offer up a pure dance floor destroyer with a chuggy bass hook, low-slung rhythms and glitch synths, the record subtly blooms over seven and half minutes with an ever-evolving dynamism and progressive vibe, heavy stuff as you’d expect from these two proficient producers. Last but not least to close the single Bambook turn in their ‘303 Mix’ of Give It Up, doing exactly what it says on the tin and delving deep into the Acid House era with stuttering 303 lines, cosseting piano chords and tension building synths.

Bambook’s ‘Give It Up’ is out on Faceless Recordings 5th February 2014.
