Celebrities with endless amounts of money can get whatever they want whenever they want, they are basically immunes, especially if they are white, let's be honest. So Feather I agree, as far as Hoffman is concerned, heroin was legal for him... i.e 70 bags of heroin and no arrests I'm aware of. If he wanted safe pharmaceutical grade heroin I'm sure he could have easily scored some. That's just like my opinion though.

It was fun while it lasted...

Re: Award-winning Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman Found Dead in Manhattan

A friend of mine made a comment yesterday on why we're praising Hoffmann a junkie who over dosed with children. Claims he should be dredged as a father with the responsibility of raising children etc. Obviously as a renowned actor; this goes without saying. But considering his circumstances does the point hold any validity?

It's an interesting point. In analyzing the whys of what he did [OD]... why was the mother of his children known as his "ex-partner" and why didn't he ever live with his children? Or did he? I don't know. Everyone is focusing on his performance and drug use. Often times people don't realize/understand the life children breathe into their parents just by being around them. Children naturally make their parents want to do better & be better, and survive this life. Seems Hoffman could have been seeking life through his art and addictions when maybe his soul's answers resided in his children all along? I guess I agree with your friend for Hoffman's kids sake and his own sake. Answers to life's issues/problems can be right under your nose at times, but your mind is off in more lofty places & misses it. I feel saddest for his children rather than the lost art.

"Meanwhile, an UGG Australia source said the company sent out sheepskin boots as gifts to celebrities in New York for Hoffman’s wake and funeral in the hopes they would wear them and be photographed."

This is disturbing and ludicrous on so many levels I can't even....

^^^should he have quit doing drugs once he had children? absolutely! does it make him a bad father for continuing instead of focusing on them? yes & no....addiction is a horrible horrible disease....it consumes you & makes you do things you normally wouldn't. It is an illness & he needed help....unfortunately he didn't go for it/ask for it in time
