Max Cooper Human Album Launch - Crucifix Lane - 5/4

    Max Cooper Human Album Launch
    05/04/14
    10pm to 6am
    Crucifix Lane

    7 – 9 Crucifix Lane, SE1 3JW

The Crucifix Lane warehouse will host the London launch party for Max Cooper’s highly anticipated debut album Human. The night will allow Max to experiment with a 4+ hour set that takes you through his inspirations, future classics and the wild extremes of the Human album.

A peerless innovator and rule-breaker, Max's style embraces electronica, techno, glitch, raw emotion and heads-down dancefloor euphoria. With releases described as “incredibly intense” by Pitchfork, “impossibly gorgeous” by FACT and “[wanting] to make you dance and cry, probably both at once” by DUMMY, he's been one of Resident Advisor's top live acts or DJs for three years running.

Human the album is Max's expansive musical statement, and this London launch is one of the most important of 40 dates he'll play worldwide in support of the album. Incredibly popular in Europe and the US, Max rarely plays in the UK - and we look forward to welcoming his first gig in nearly a year.

The inimitable Max Cooper is gearing up for the release of his debut album, Human, on March 10th. Dancing Astronaut premier the album mix to “Numb,” a track originally unveiled nearly a year ago by way of an allegorical, animated music video.

"Empyrean" is an ancient Greek term for heaven, and this track was an attempt to distill that simple concept into a piece of music. I tried to keep it nice and soft, but I wanted to have plenty of detail and complexity in there amongst the simple strings and melodies. I also added some binaural recordings on top to add some extra spatiality.
