    Dallas Buyers Club

Didn't think I'd like this ... but I was so wrong.

MM as Ron Woodroof is mesmerising. A real performance, should run close at the Oscars .. can't believe it's Director isn't up for an award.

If Ron Woodroof does not get a Oscar for this performance. I don't know who else can.

Excellent movie throughout, but felt as if it didn't have a really strong ending to it, just too peculiar for my liking. MM's weight loss was beyond belief, amazing to have gone not only a weight change, but a maturity in his acting style.

Excellent film overall. Should pick up a few nods over the awards season.

I thought Jared Leto who played Ray/Rayon/Raymond did a better job than MM which is no mean feat considering MM's performance. If not MM for Best Actor surely Leto deserves a Best Supporting.

Agreed on the ending. The film was such an emotional roller coaster, felt like it suddenly lost steam and petered out with the ending.

Great movie, I thought both leads did a great job. Check out Mud also if you've been liking MM's good acting streak lately.

I did not enjoy this film, but Leno did a superb job as did MM. The story just didn't move me... does that make me a bad person? lol I don't think so. I just couldn't relate to the characters or didn't feel they were developed well. They shot it all really fast and I think it delivered as too rushed to me. idk

Didn't someone already post the pic of the best actor winner's engraved plate for the statue that was inadvertently leaked/photographed during a CNN interview I think it was? I won't spoil it if you didn't see it.

Ron Woodroof is dead already, right? You mean Matthew. Yea, his weight loss made me uncomfortable, he was practically unrecognizable and who wants that? haha

I think MM has a better shot at it just due to the subject matter and everyone liking his turn around into a serious actor lately, but I'm rooting for Leo even though I think he is the underdog.

Def a good film. Without the amazing performances this film could have easily been terrible. There's nothing that's very interesting or unique going on in the film, so it's testament to the editing, dp, director and the actors performances. MM breathed life into this film as did Leto, you guys really did call it, I'm impressed .

It was fun while it lasted...

                          Re: Dallas Buyers Club

Please! Someone tell me what is "good" about this film, what you liked about it, enjoyed, or found entertaining? MM looks like he's on death door every moment of the film, his character is sick & dying of AIDS & he has to struggle through bureaucracy, he's been derogatory towards women prob all his life, the doctor [Garner] is a good doctor but the FDA prevents her from really helping anyone, MM and Leto deal with assholes who have no compassion for anyone, not even animals, they form a friendship or more like some kind of bond, but Leto dies young, people can't get their medicine but manage to get some from MM's character for some length of time. Ok,,. where exactly is the "good?" I get that wow, he lives what?... 5-7 more years, still pretty much being an ass the whole time, but at least he's supplying people with some medicine that might prolong their lives... that's good I guess.

Is this a good film you'd ever want to see again? Not me. I hope I never see it again. It felt like sitting through the cesspool of life for however long it lasted. The performances were impressive, the end. I just don't get how it's liked for anything. There was nothing surprising, hopeful, enjoyable, timely, no cinematography, no scenery, no revelations, nothing I enjoy in the film. I couldn't even enjoy MM's beauty. It robbed me of part of my life as far as I'm concern. Ok, done now. Glad I got that off my chest! And I'm glad Leto and MM won an Oscar.

I believe it took a sparkle out of Matthew's eyes he'll never regain & might have shaved years off his own life. [Hope I'm wrong.] Other than knowing why they won awards for it as in "Ah, I know what they're all talking about," it was a waste of my time.

I hate movies where the theme is "The world sucks. Then you die. The end." Why make that film?? why? Do something constructive with your film making talent.
