01. P.O.O.F - Die Umarmung Der Geister (Prisoners Of Our Fears EP) [Amam | AMAMEXTRA024]
We are pleased to unveil a project that has been slowly brewing in the AMAM studios over the past year or so: the debut EP from P.O.O.F.
Titled Prisoners of our Fears, these four tracks retain our usual affinity for clock working club rhythms, but with a noticeably greater emphasis on experimentation using live instruments. Classically trained trumpeter Mario Massa first linked up with AMAM to guest on Renato Figoli’s Funkoholic, which is how he met AMAM founder Alessio Mereu, who then invited him to play on his Trama EP. Now Massa brings experimental guitarist Maurizio Marzo into the circle, the two players providing new sonic elements for producer Mereu to work with, and—poof!—a new project is born.
“Factotum” features a housey shuffle scattered with smoky clouds, a vibrant scene for the trumpet to manoeuvre through as it lets out a legato howl, while a the guitar emits a plethora of different sounds, from unsettling surf to fuzzy grunge, without ever sounding forced or upstaging the rest of the track, instead creating a colourfully soundtracked ecosphere.
“Die Umarmung Der Geister” goes for a techier, synthetic rhythm where layers of guitar and trumpet levitate effortlessly to provide an atmospheric texture.
“Upset” has an extended intro that subverts typically “80s” sounds as a mechanistic percussive pattern cuts through, with the contrast of extended wails and intricately programmed beats leading into some sort of Philip Glass organ phase for the EP’s most hypnotic moment.
Finally, Massa, Marzo and Mereu invite vocalist Laura Mura for “We Will Find It Out”, an ethereal number showing the Massa/Marzo/Mereu ensemble’s capacity for harmoniously combining the artificial and the organic.

Label Info [Amam Label, Cagliari | Berlin, Italy]
Amam is a record project from Alessio Mereu. The record company is inspired by contemporary forms of production, through personal elaboration of rhythm and sounds in a primarily techno and house genre. It explores the stylistic uniformity of contemporary music without a singular identity.
A style of production without genre that has primarily the emotional impact of the artist influenced by experiences of the times.
A work of art that takes from a large canvas and varies thanks to the innovation of instruments available. It is able to influence through classical, jazz, funk and modern sounds the new music and elements without time. The record company includes the most interesting names of the music scene at the moment, artists that have been close to Alessio Mereu up to today. With this ideal it aims to create a solid foundation that can contribute to making Amam strong in the international scene, in a group effort to sustain underground music.

03. SCSI-9 - Switch Me Up (Flop Flop EP) [200 Records | 200 026]
Supported by Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Dominik Eulberg, Seidensticker & Salour, Piemont, Estroe, David Dorad, Secret Cinema, Michel De Hey, Paul Hazendonk, Martin Landsky, Acid Pauli and many more!
SCSI-9 and 200 Records came together in 2009 when the Russian duo did a superb remix for BlackIsBeautiful's "Purpur". In the same year we met Anatol and Maxim for the first time when they played live for us in Cologne. A few months later we invited Anatol again for the Protez label night alongside with Alex Meshkov and Korablove at Cologne's famous Studio 672.
In 2013 SCSI-9 came back to Cologne to play a live set at Gewölbe – we met them again and after having such a great night, we decided to do a release together: the result is the four-tracker "Flop Flop". 4 cool trippy, dubby and minimal tracks.
Written and produced by Anton Kubikov & Maxim Milutenko, mastering by Emanuel Geller, artwork by empp.de.

04. Audiofly feat. JAW - Excuse My Wildness (Carl Craig Remix) [Supernature | SPN033]
Audiofly return to their beloved Supernature after a hiatus of over two years following their last EP on Get physical. With a hectic worldwide touring schedule and the completion of their debut Flying Circus Ibiza residency @ Sankeys, studio time was scarce for the boys. In the few weeks they had back home in Barcelona, Anthony and Luca put their heart and soul into the creation of the Excuse My Wilderness EP. A process that took over 6 months to complete.
On remix duty are Masomenos and Carl Craig and we are premiering the Planet E founder's amazing edit of the track. The hypnotic and sidewinding remix plays on the rolling bass-line to create a driving and highly atmospheric dance-floor cut.

05. Pavel Petrov - Adapt [Trapez Ltd | TRAPEZLTD132]
For those of you who don´t know Pavel Petrov, he is one of the best underground dance producers in Bulgaria. His tracks have made it into the charts of Maya Jane Coles, Catz ´N Dogs, Nina Kraviz, Maceo Plex and many more. We have already released the "Low Pressure" EP with him which we are big fans of and also his new tracks took possession of us.
Pavel has found a very nice way of opening up the tracks with an ambientish intro and low key beats + soundscapes and then plunges into slack DFA, Metro Area like beats with full effect.
This all sounds quite metropolitan and keeps a slack attitude as done with "Adapt" and "Hybrid" "Liquid" has a more direct approach in the beginning but later on shows great break down potential! This is music to dance to, great music!

06. Steve Bug - Smoking Parrot (Simple, Thick & Raw EP) [Poker Flat Recordings | PFR 144]
Kicking off the new year Steve Bug style – Poker Flat Recordings sets course for another year of quality house music. The label boss himself presents us with the first transmission of 2014 - and the title succinctly nails what to expect.
'Simple, Thick & Raw' contains three tracks that are simultaneously gritty, tough and highly effective.
'The Arpeggio' contains Bug’s signature control of tension – an arpeggiated synth line bubbles along, hardly restrained, on top of a firing drum pattern, resulting in a groove wound tight and packed with suspense.
'Thickest Bass' is also fairly self explanatory- a pitched down vocal introduces what might just be the filthiest bottom end Bug has ever produced. The track has a raw, off-kilter quality that will see it destroy many clubs when dropped at the optimum moment.
'Smoking Parrot' completes the trio, a tough yet spacey burner that builds into a indisputable floor-rocker, complete with punchy claps, descending bass-line and Bug’s well honed dynamics.
'Life in Circles' completes the release - a tech house pearl with a touch of acid.

07. Fairmont - Manso (Poble Sec EP) [Beachcoma Recordings | BEACH022]
Techno Meets Spaced Out Synth Music. Fairmont Lives Up To His Reputation To Be Different Producer.
For his latest release, Jake has taken two of his biggest live tracks from recent months. Recorded in single takes, with minimal post production, "Poble Sec" and "Manso" are more or less live recordings. The result is some very spontaneous technology music from the heart.

08. Sasha Carassi - Vection [Bedrock Records | Beddigi45]
09. Sasha Carassi - Hungexpo [Bedrock Records | Beddigi45]
Hailing from the traditional techno hotbed of Napoli, Sasha Carassi has, since his breakthrough year of 2010, been at the forefront of the sound and scene turning our an impressively consistent stream of exciting, groove-heavy productions. With the likes of Drumcode, Octopus, Harthouse and Phobiq all presenting the Carassi sound his star has risen, and rightly so.
Sasha makes his Bedrock debut with the awesome double-header 'Hungexpo' / 'Vection'. The heads-down drive of the lead cut instantly snares you. The bubbling bass synth, creepy fx and tense breakdown make Hungexpo a perfect dancefloor weapon. On the flip Vection maintains the devilish groove of the opening track while its arpeggiated synth dances throughout with an ebb and flow that hypnotises the listener. It teases with its rimshots before dropping scything stabs and drawing us to a close.
