      i know, it's all good.

as soon as someone brings up the Cubs to a Cards fan, it gets serious, gloves off...and vice versa. Comparable to Sox v Yankees.

Someone mentioned Cinci...lol, check the standings, and check the season series v the cards, and the cubs for that matter. Cinci's run is done.

You can't have manslaughter without laughter.

"Son," he said without preamble, "never trust a man who doesn't drink because he's probably a self-righteous sort, a man who thinks he knows right from wrong all the time. Some of them are good men, but in the name of goodness, they cause most of the suffering in the world. They're the judges, the meddlers. And, son, never trust a man who drinks but refuses to get drunk. They're usually afraid of something deep down inside, either that they're a coward or a fool or mean and violent. You can't trust a man who's afraid of himself. But sometimes, son, you can trust a man who occasionally kneels before a toilet. The chances are that he is learning something about humility and his natural human foolishness, about how to survive himself. It's damned hard for a man to take himself too seriously when he's heaving his guts into a dirty toilet bowl."

just face the fact that you've been owned by the Cards.

The central will go to the cards or cubs...the rest of the division is our whipping boy.

owned by the cards who had a full roster?

Just wait for Prior and Wood to make a full return.

And wait for Sammy to be feeling 100% again.

HAHAH, the last time Prior took the mound against the cards, grand slam, followed by 10+ runs. And don't tell me he was still recovering from his injury, because a week earlier he pitched 6 or 8 scoreless innings.

You can argue all you want, and i'll keep pointing to the scoreboard.

I am telling u that def. the cardinals won't win. They don't have the pitching. In the playoffs it is a new game. Pitching wins. Obviously u don't watch baseball very much. As for scott rolen=good player. But not great. They won't win the National league.

                      Rolen as of yesterday...

                      17 HR
                      71 RBIs
                      .335 avg

i don't know what you qualify as great, but those numbers are pretty fucking outstanding in my book, not to mention his arm and glove.

Pujols in his first 4 years in the league has better numbers than Bonds in comparison.

The best players in ball...no, Alex R gets that nod in my book...but those two above are definitely in the top 5.

guys i'm not saying that rolen isn't a good player. IMO i think he will shit the bed in the second half of the season. Ya he had a great first half. It's a long season. I say he ends the year with 32 hr, 130RBI and .292 AVG. Which are good numbers. But he won't do that against the pitching in the playoffs.

                          my .02

I'm not a baseball fan by any means, the season is too long, and the local team here, the D Rays, is shite. BUT, who would have thought the day would come that the D Rays would have a better record than the Braves.

that's pretty much across the board for any player, not just rolen.

offensive numbers go down in the playoffs...common knowledge.

where he will help in the playoffs is, he's clutch. when you need a hit, a glove save, a home run, etc....Rolen, Pujols, Edmonds = schwing.

Hey guys, ask Alfonso Soriano how the pitching is in the playoffs. Pure fastball hitters are shit in the playoffs

btw, getting me to admit anything negative about my Cardinals is like trying to get Chemicalbeavis to say Sasha sucks.

It just isn't going to happen.

Just once in every baseball fan's life i wish everyone could see a game at Bush, and a game at Wrigley. The atmosphere is electric.

I was at a playoff game at Yankee stadium against the Mariners when griffey still played in seattle...rowdy crowd. It was cool seeing the house that Ruth build, but i'll take a sunday cards game anyday over that. Same goes for Wrigley. Stl is a baseball town, if you don't support the cards here, you're pretty much a shitheel.
