The links seem to be pointing to the 29th March file for me. Is it just named incorrectly or the same file?

                  04. AMAN - Tears of the Lotus (Jaap Ligthart Remix) [Agara Music | AM016]

Travis MacDonald's Agara Music returns this week following what was one of my favourite releases on the label. Travis' two collaborations with Belgian producer Max Cue were absolutely sensational and left fans of the label wanting more. It's been two long months since the aforementioned collaboration but it's been well worth wait as Agara's new release is finally here. I'm always curious to see what comes next on this fine Canadian imprint as Travis has some of the most astute ears around. The 16th overall release on the label features the debut of AMAN and his latest single entitled 'Tears of the Lotus' which includes a remix from Jaap Lighart.

AMAN's recent productions for Soundteller, 3rd Avenue and Liquid Grooves have been quite cool and there always seems to be something mystical about his productions. The Indian producers latest studio creation 'Tears of the Lotus' begins with some very well crafted beats and an ever-evolving ambiance. The layered kicks give the groove a nice hop and once the trailing effects dissipate the rhythmic claps just further the energetic pulse of the track. The flickering hypnotics and faint chord changes carry the track in to the main break where things intensify just a touch. A new melodic hook is introduced which works perfectly with the glassy vortex of keys. It sets up a mesmerizing conclusion to the record which stays quite elegant and refreshingly laid back. Excellent stuff from AMAN.

The lone remix on the release comes from Jaap Lighart who is making his first appearance on Agara. The Dutch producer is much loved for his many bootleg reworks along with official releases on MNL, LuPS Records, Baroque and Aurium Recordings. For his 'Tears of the Lotus' interpretation Jaap has overhauled the track into something much tougher and more tech house oriented. In making great use of the original elements Jaap has managed to keep the mystical feeling of the track while making it much more accessible to the dance floor. A tension filled breakdown and bass heavy payoff highlight the records climax and is just the icing on the cake for what is one of Jaap's best remixes to date. Outstanding stuff from Agara Music once again.

                  Release/catalogue number: AM016
                  Release date: 31 March 2014

                  05. Anthony Yarranton - Bag Of Bells [Particles | PSI1410]

Fresh from a remix of Deas for Particles in January, London resident Anthony Yarranton, has continued 2014 where he left off 2013. A growing reputation that saw Yarranton's first original work for Particles delivered through the deep melodic vibes of Bag of Bells on the Summer Particles 2013 collection, now sees a full release alongside a cast of star-studded remixes from Europe.

Calling Sligo home, in the north-west of Ireland, John Kearns, operating under his Lateral Cut Groove pseudonym has been a consistently high achiever since his first residency at the Propaganda Club in his home city, aged 16. A strong relationship with the Liquid Grooves imprint bearing a bumper crop, Organised Chaos opened the Lateral Cut Groove account with Particles after its inclusion on the Fall 2012 compilation, before receiving a full release of its own with remixes from Andrea Cassino and Stephen J. Kroos in September 2013.

Now remixing "Bag of Bells", the Lateral Cut Groove interpretation is a majestic collage of head-swaying percussion, pulsating bass line and house sensibilities. A simple vocal cut adds a further dynamic rhythmic layer to a remix that is chock full of dance floor credibility.

Italian, Danny Lloyd, born and raised in a small Tuscan village, has been immersed in music from a young age and early DJ success led ultimately to an exploration of many styles in the dance music kaleidoscope. With 2014 already bring success with the "Op3n" EP on Entangled, Lloyd now returns to Particles after a three year hiatus, embarking on a third remix for the label with a typically mature rework of "Bag of Bells". Taking Yarranton's core melodic theme, he has placed it within a new rhythmic framework adding a strong percussion section full of clipped hats and ticking shakers. With perfect harmony, an immaculately placed vocal sample sustains the original melodic element further still, creating a work of undeniable skill.

A final contribution sees Polish born Kacper Kostecki make a welcome return to the Particles family after his debut "Outset" EP saw two tracks of wonderful innovation. Mentored by heavyweight producer and fellow countryman, Kobana has helped shape the Kostecki sound, seeing immediate rewards with another original EP for Dopamine and a return to Particles in the shape of December 2013's "21st Century Symphony". Reworking Anthony Yarranton in typically original fashion, a rasping bass line dominates a languid percussive groove before a glitched fill introduces an incongruous lead line that rises in a variety of pitch ranges to create a natural tension. Further intermittent glitched fills provide more moments of intrigue as Kostecki's remix of "Bag of Bells" keeps listeners on their metaphorical toes throughout.

A trio of new remixes from Lateral Cut Groove, Danny Lloyd and Kacper Kostecki sees the 'bells' peal brightly as Anthony Yarranton 'bags' himself another winning EP.

                  08. King Unique - Raydrop (7 Hours) feat. Natalie Arnold (Some Break The Shell EP) [microCastle | MCSL033]

The 33rd release on microCastle features the return of Matt Thomas aka King Unique to the label. The storied UK producer has been an integral part of microCastle over the course of the labels 5 year existence. This is Matt's fourth appearance and it follows his much hyped remix of Jamie Stevens 'The Wonder Of You' from November of 2013.

It's been a huge year thus far for King Unique with an appearance on Bedrock's 'Underground Sound of Miami' collection and the release of 'Yohkoh 2014' on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music. We're pleased to welcome Matt back to microCastle for his first EP entitled 'Some Break The Shell'. The EPs unique title taken from Molly Drake's poem 'The Shell' is in reference to Matt breaking away from the musical ground which many have come to expect from him.

The melodic house production Raydrop (7 Hours feat. Natalie Arnold) leads the EP off in fine fashion. King Unique's big beats, chunky grooves and quirky electronics lay down a contemporary vibe early on. The spacious foundation then gets well complemented with hypnotic keys, hazy sheets of harmony and Natalie's pristine vocals which cut through the atmosphere with a dynamic flair. This tastefully restrained epic has already earned praise from Above & Beyond, Hernan Cattaneo and Henry Saiz so expect to be hearing this one a lot in the coming months!

A dub of 'Raydrop' has also been included which features the same great musical themes from '7 Hours' presented in a slightly more subtle fashion which should serve the less vocally inclined DJs perfectly.

The EPs third selection 'Some Break' sees King Unique exploring an ultramodern melodic sound. The undeniable bounce of the breakbeat rhythms are not only fresh but are sure to be magic on the dance-floor. The melodic content of the track is continually building as emotive vocal elements and poignant harmonies play off each other for what results in the ultimate sun drenched anthem.

The EP's final track 'Without Boxes' is in many ways it's most exquisite piece. The delicate textures are full of wonderful character and the unique progression of the production carries a profoundly emotional message. It's a piece of music that will sit with you for quite some time and it puts a perfect close to what is one of King Unique's most eagerly anticipated EPs of his career.
