The techno scene in Japan continues to go from strength to strength with the fourth installment of its annual techno extravaganza - WIRE04 - on 17th and 18th July. The brainchild of Japanese DJ and producer Takkyu Ishino (Denki Groove) the event is now in its fourth year and this year and for the first time will be held over two nights.
This year, the extravaganza will be held at the sports stadium of Yokohama Arena, which played host to the 2002 World Cup Final, and will host many of the artists that have played at Ishino's monthly Sterne event. The line-up on Day One features eighteen DJ's and live PA's including sets from Josh Wink, Marco Bailey, Michael De Hey, Westbam, DJ Hell and a live PA from Der Dritte Raum and Ishino's own Denki Groove in addition to local DJ's Ken Ishii and Shin Nishimura amongst others.
Day Two is not for the faint-hearted either with headliners Orbital performing their last ever live Japan show. The pair will also be joined by 16 other acts including a live set from Alter Ego and DJ sets from Jeff Mills, Luke Slater, Chris Liebing, Pascal F.E.O.S, Ellen Alien, Monika Kruse, Tobias Thomas, Fumiya Tanaka and more.
