    Release Notes:

    01. Marco Resmann - More Or Less (Basic Motion EP) [Poker Flat Recordings | PFR147]

Following up on the high quality remix effort for Vince Watson's 'Planet Funk' released via Poker Flat in February it's now the time for Berlin's Marco Resmann to serve his first ever solo 12" on Poker Flat.

With 'Basic Motion' the head of the highly respected Upon.You-label and founding member of the infamous duo Luna City Express explores the deeper realms and moodier corners of today's Tech House terrain.

Starting the journey with the highly seductive title track 'Basic Motion' based upon a subtle, but well catchy bassline motif that's accompanied by raw and slowly accumulating synth tones which finally fall together, building a stirring, intoxicating melody inevitably causing a heavy buzz on the dancefloor, we see Marco Resmann at his very best here, catering an instant classic that's not meant to leave DJ's boxes for ages.

With 'Ladies & Gentlemen' the tense, well-jackin' feel of Chitown takes over, offering a basic, stripped down bassline menu, ever bubbling, slightly acidic synths and a darkish, quite epic organ-referring line providing the goosebumps and a thrilling surprise for all late night punters.

Finally we see 'More Or Less' sweetly rounding off this three track E.P. with tender and longing, melancholia driven and enchanting, slightly off-key strings sweetly contrasted by a frolicking, expertly crafted main theme that perfectly captures the secret desires of all nightbound creatures and dancefloor crowding souls.

    Release Date: April 7, 2014

    02. dOP - Close Up (Louisahhh Remix) [Circus Company | CCS088]
    05. dOP - Close Up (Catz'n Dogz Remix) [Circus Company | CCS088]

The unique and barnstorming trio from Paris dOP are back on the home turf of Circus Company with killer new single ‘Close Up’ including remixes from Catz‘n Dogz, San Proper and Louisahhh. Combining a dynamic groove with JAW’s unmistakable sultry drawl and a dreamy soundscape of deep chords and warm pads, the original mix is an addictive slice of vivid vocal house. Catz’N’Dogz add more thump with their remix and take the track to the darker recesses of the rave, while in the second remix, San Proper bestows his eclectic style by heightening the dream factor in a spaced out intro before building into the groove against a fresh soundwall of bleeps and oddities.

On the final rework (Digital Bonus), vocalist and producer Louisahhh lays down her own original vocal and drops the tempo, creating a smooth mellow vibe for hazy afternoons.

    [Rolling Tuff Review]

dOP is three vibrant personalities with the musical abilities to express themselves in the most unique and human of ways in an age where computertronics prevail. Making an indelible mark with their flamboyant style of house on labels such as Eklo, Supplement Facts and of course Circus Company home to debut album ‘Greatest Hits’, 6 years on, dOP are still basking in the art of live electronic performance and irresistible songs laced with charisma and aimed at the strong-hearted, hot-headed dance-floor.

    03. Lee Pennington - People From The Underground [Kismet Records | KMTDIGI043]

Only on its 5th release and the new reformed Kismet Records is shaping up to be a label that is on everyone’s lips, support on the releases have so far come from Essential New Tune at Pete Tong’s iconic Radio 1 show to rave reviews and support from key players on the electronic music scene.

For this new release “People From ‘The Underground’, Kismet has hired DJ, Producer, club promoter Lee Pennington better known under his alias Section 75 and he certainly hits the spot with this thumping deep tribalisic groove. Pennington is certainly not unknown on the underground scene having regularly played at basics, Jaunt, Shindig, Mint, The Egg, Fabric. ‘People of The Underground’, comes with three mixes, the original from Lee Pennington himself, Groove Syndicate and Kismets very own rising star Missing Beats.

All three mixes delivering something for everyone and will no doubt be a regular feature on the dance floors this summer. Pennington's original mix kicks in with a solid deep hypnotic groove and unmistakeable after hours vibe while creating ominous layers of techno with the added haunting spoken vocals of the man himself reminding everyone to forget the nonsense that has evaded our club culture with the VIP bottle service and stay real “we will still be here when everyone is gone”.

The Groove Syndicate remix quickly gathers momentum and is a slight more punchy creating a chunky and potent groove. Missing Beats strips down the original and delivers all his finest ingredients of sounds creating a brilliant contrasting remix, with it’s tight beats and sexy baseline proving once again why he has lately become an in-demand remixer.

    Release Date: April 28, 2014

    04. FiberRoot - Space Localizer [Ellum Audio | ELL019]

Out May 2014 - Shall Ocin vs. FiberRoot

Ellum Audio are back for another killer release with a double sided, two track bomb which sees Shall Ocin take the A-side and FiberRoot take the B-side. o+ Originally from Argentina, Shall Ocin aka Nicolas Abalos first started releasing music in 2010 under the name Paneoh on labels such as Bedrock and Connect Four. Now under the name Shall Ocin he releases on labels such as Ellum Audio, Culprit LA, Get Physical and Leftroom Limited.

    06. Igor Vicente - Mallowdie (Heartthrob Remix) (Mystericordia EP) [Mobilee Records | MOBILEE129]

Igor Vicente is a name that many may not have heard of yet, but this it is not from lack of presence in the scene. From his legendary Wild Family parties in Belgium, to his recent State Of Flow residency at world-renowned Fuse club, and his collaboration as Ultrasone, this quick rising star is becoming a tour de force within the spectrum of House and Techno. Now on his own as a solo artist, Igor is moving onward and upward with his own forward thinking productions and unique DJ sound.

His debut EP, Mystericordia is a solid first entry into the Mobilee family. This record showcases Igor’s journey into the deep and dark depths of underground House. A sound that he has already been developing over the years as a DJ in Belgium and a part of Ultrasone, which he has clearly transitioned into his style of production, but with his own flair as a solo artist.

The title track “Mystericordia” starts our journey through darker landscapes with its heavy kick drums and deep vibes it slowly brings us through a land of intrigue without losing us in monotony. After slowly introducing us to this far off land “Mallowdie” quickly picks up the pace with a vibe that is sure to fill dance floors instantly but without losing the ambience of our previous adventure.

After taking us through this land where distorted voices speak to us like a ghost in the machine we finally reach “Dance System” the final destination on our map. This time we are brought back a little bit to the light with complex drum patterns that keep us moving and constant elements of surprise, but never taking itself too seriously so you don’t forget that we eventually have to come back from this outer world.

    07. Chris Fortier - Music Makes The Body (Him Self Her Remix) [Selador | Promo]

Forthcoming on Selador in July. Package incl. a Wehbba remix.

They say that strength comes in numbers - and two is certainly mighty when it comes to dynamic duo Him_self_Her.

Hailing from Leicester in the UK, the astute combination of Claire and Leon came together after honing individual skills for many years on their local scene. All that it took was one studio session to realise the potency of their union; and what a union it is.

Infusing all genres of underground house, from deep grooves, to driving tech - right through to disco enhanced techno, they love to play with bold house vocals, be it through well sourced samples or self penned hits.

Best known for their release 'Gone Too Long' on Cream Couture records in 2012, the track was soon picked up by Damian Lazarus, who has since signed the pair to Crosstown Rebels. An album is also planned later in the year, in the mean time their studio has been kept busy with releases for Eskimo, Love Matters, Runnin' Wild, Love Not Money and Circle Records - all achieving Beatport charting and peer respect from the likes of Pete Tong, Hot Since 82, Solomun, H.O.S.H, Lee Foss, Jamie Jones and Sandy Rivera.

    08. Tiga vs. Audion - Fever (Maetrik Remix Version 2) [Turbo Recordings | TURBO156D]

Following the massive success of 'Let's Go Dancing,' the production super-duo of Tiga and Audion return with another absolute bomb.

Where Let's Go Dancing was built for the super-clubs of Ibiza, Fever is illicit, raw, tough, mid-tempo, hip-hop inflected rave-house - a million miles away from the watered-down genre it will undoubtedly be squeezed into - built around a visceral synth riff and brilliant vocal hook from Tiga, who has decidedly never sounded this bad-ass... it all rests on one of the catchiest, funkiest grooves either of the two gifted producers have ever made.

Fever is a teaser from Tiga's forthcoming album. A deliriously hypnotic techno jam with satanic rave horns heralds the return of Tiga vs Audion, with their new collaboration, ‘Fever’. ‘Fever’ is a further glimpse into Tiga’s forthcoming new album of which Audion, aka Matthew Dear, is a co-producer.

This package includes the original plus a selection of remixes by super-heavyweights Maetrik (aka Maceo Plex), KiNK, Tom Trago and Acid Arab.

    Release date: Apr 27, 2014

    09. Coyu & Ramiro Lopez - Requiem For The Crazyness (That's Not Happening EP) [Bedrock Records | Beddigi-48]

Coyu made his debut on Bedrock with his stunning remix of 'Matter of Time' by The Japanese Popstars Feat. Green Velvet which is still garnering lots of support from many DJ's with Pan Pot playing it recently in their broadcasted set from the Timewarp festival meaning it has barely left the Beatport top 50 Techno Chart in the past 5 months. His own Suara releases and label have also been hugely championed by the DJing elite.

Following on from this success both Coyu and Bedrock wanted to further this great relationship and a new EP from Coyu and Ramiro Lopez was signed to the label. One of these tracks 'Diferencias' featured on the acclaimed Underground Sound of Miami Series 3 CD release and now "That's Not Happening EP" is the next release due out on May 12th. The four tracks on the EP all have that fantastic groovy techno feel to them with tough beats and swung percussion with scattered vocal snippets. The title track 'That's Not Happening' has been a big track for both Coyu and John Digweed over the past few months with it's vocals catching the attention of dancefloors worldwide.

All in all this a huge EP that will no doubt appeal to many and get repeated and regular plays over the summer months.
