Scoping the globe for the next great Breaks DJ talent...

The 1st Annual Bijou Breaks Breakthru DJ Competition is an international competition with the goal of discovering and promoting fresh DJ talent in the breakbeat music world. Bijou Breaks, based in Southern California, has emerged as one of the top online destinations for breakbeat music and news. With a major focus on the "up n' comer" DJ, our goal is to provide a platform so these DJs can be heard by the global Breaks massive.

The Competition

The concept it simple: DJs create a mix, record it and submit it to our panel of judges for review. The contest runs May 1st thru June 30st with the winners being announced July 31st. After the winners are announced, their mixes are made available to a global audience via the participating sponsors. The competition will run for two months allowing ample time for the busy bedroom DJ or local club resident to craft a mix to perfection.

Competition open to 'up n coming' DJs only. If you are signed to a label, have your own tracks for sale or host your own online radio show, you need not enter.

Have a little gripe with the last part...I'd say many up and comers also host their own shows as well for the exposure...but it's up to your call on that I s'pose.
