I saw this movie over the weekend, GREAT MOVIE, 5/5 for me. I'm not saying it is the best movie of all time, but it is EXACTLY what I like. I had major doubts based on the really lame title, but I was very pleasently surprised.
Daniel Craig is excellent in this role, and having seen this I've very pleased with the choice of him as the new Bond, I think he will be great for the role.
The plot is very interesting, filled with twists and turns, and very realistic, so glad to not have to deal with the typical hollywood over-the-top BS and special effects. Also once again the romantic subplot is kept to a refreshing minimum... just enought to charge it with some sexual tension, not too much to overpower the story. Sienna Miller is hot, BTW.Beats are my crack.Comment

i'm pretty sure there is already a thread on this movie.
the story was good, but kinda fizzled at the end. layer cake is the perfect name imo because there were many layers to the story, but it was all cake.once upon a time, machines were mice, and men were lions. now that its the opposite, it's twice upon a time

Well, it was supposed to be directed by Guy Ritchie, but he was unable to do so as he got too many things to do at the same time. Matthew Vaughn then directed it himself. He was also the producer of another movie written and directed by Guy Ritchie: Snatch, 5 years ago. Also an excellent movie.Originally posted by superdave
