Tiesto is just another bandwagon jumper... i remember the funny story how his management has offered a booking of him to a local promoter here 6 or 7 years ago..And when the promoter turned down the offer with the explanation ''we don't book trance artists..only techno'' the answer from Tiesto's staff was ''Well he plays a lot of techno in his sets recently''
Who ho actually thinks this story is actually plausible? I think it takes a dive at management offered a booking and never recovered.

Not sure why I gave this one a listen...but I did. And it was actually really good stuff. Definitely not the typical Tiesto tunes. Thanks for sharing floridaorange

“We’re Full Thanks” Deep House Tells Tiësto
The deep house genre has today come out and told Dutch trance and EDM superstar Tiësto that there’s no room for him to work in the genre claiming “we’re full thanks”.
“There’s already too many deep house DJs, most of whom don’t even really play deep house,” explained deep house spokesperson Huxley. “For a trance and EDM DJ to start playing deep house on a whim to seem relevant to the underground would just ruin the genre so for that reason we can’t let him in.”
“We need proper deep house DJs who’ve been committed to the genre for years and not just in the last 18 months since it’s become dominant,” he continued. “This genre ain’t big enough for the both of us.”
Deep house itself made a statement that it had already let in far too many DJs and it was currently at capacity but it’d put Tiësto’s request on file and get back to him if there are any openings.
“We’re actually just full at the minute, if anyone else jumps onto the deep house bandwagon it’s likely to break,” claimed deep house. “We’re already seeing a divide in what Beatport has popularised as deep house and what purists are considering is actual deep house. If we let Tiësto in then we’ll probably see full scale sectarian war.”
Tiësto reportedly was disappointed with the “no-Tiësto stance” imploring deep house to let it in as they had already let Tiësto Funke in to which deep house responded “no-Tiësto’s” are allowed in.
A lot of people are mystified by Tiësto’s attempts to ingratiate himself into the underground deep house scene claiming there’s “not that much money in deep house compared to cheesy trance or EDM”.
“If he really wants to start playing deep house then maybe he should play it out live at his sold out expensive shows rather than hidden away on satellite radio,” concluded deep house.

I never liked Tiesto for one second, but i do kinda respect his hustle.
I do think he's jumping on the bandwagon since it is so much outta leftfield compared to what he does. And that makes it cheesy. But a dj that doesnt move with the times becomes forgotten. Music is organic and evolving as a dj is essential. But switching completely when there's a "trend" is ridiculous.

So what other bandwagons did Tiesto jump on? Drum & Bass, Tribal, Minimal, Electro, Break Beat, Techno, House, Trance? I can name popular DJ's who jumped on every single one of them, but Tiesto isn't the first name that springs to mind.

This story is real,i know it personally from one of the promoters..Tiesto wanted at that time (2004-2005) to expand his gigs schedule and to include Bulgaria to his tour and that's why his management offered him to this promoter company..When they turned down the offer another promoter company took the offer and the rest is history..Tiesto played here 5 or 6 times already..the last time was just a few weeks ago here in Sofia..
