Limited advance release info.
Barcelona label Maison D’etre was born from the genuine urge of expressing the true desires that chase us and the strong senses that owe us.
Through its musical arm, Maison D’etre aims for a slow, long life sound, that hits the gut, rather than the ear. A record label that's not concerned with chasing the scene and its trends, but goes on a journey on its own, discovering and building its world.
[Fuzz Mag Review]
The (in their own words) always innovative, electronic label Maison D'Etre gives us release number nine and a handful of after-hour beats delivered by UK's Just Be, known for his previous project Bushwacka!
Matthew Benjamin (Jusr Be) has releases on Get Physical, Plus 8 and Intec Digital.
Troubled Sou takes an eleven minute journey through the darkest chambers of Benjamin's brain. Tattered vocals, spacey synth chords and a hypnotic bass line forms the ideal recipe against all anguish.
During another late night we go completely the other way and we are looking for a dash happiness. And we look with carefully draped over the beat in and uitfadende synth pads also fairly easy to find. Fine deep house that will take us in the right mood!
Conclusion: Just Be release all shrinks aside and creates his own therapy. With Troubled Soul, he goes in search of the darkest depths to get then to jump with Another Late Night. And also: great pictures, as in his latest mix that he made for Pioneer DJ Radio.
03. Juan Deminicis - Bedroom Riddles [Lost & Found | FOUND02]
Having launched this Mini-LP format to give exceptional young artists a platform to express themselves perfectly (with Navars totally enthralling FOUND01), Lost & Found label boss Guy J has now given Argentinas rising star, Juan Deminicis, the next opportunity to shine through his five stunning creations.
Juan began creating electronic music in 2005, at 15 years of age, influenced by the exceptional local DJ talent on display every week in Argentinian clubs. Although Hernan Cattaneo remains the countrys best-known global star, the likes of Martin Garcia, Guille Quero, Deep Mariano, Big Fabio and others, were have also been highly influential in the ways they create different ways to feel and understand electronic music.
Argentina is most definitely one of the key creative and most vibrant places right now, and listening to FOUND02 is a perfect snapshot of one of South Americas most exciting emerging new talents. From the gentle, teasing, melodic mood of opening track 'Avalon', to the twisted beauty of 'Vulcan Pigsi' the stage is set for a master class in totally enthralling emotional music. With 'Time' showing a deep and dark side to the young producers stylistic palette, and 'Feel' reaching for the stars, 'Bedroom Riddles' is left to turn up the intensity to the max.
FOUND02 is a stunning body of work that will, no doubt, put Juan Deminicis firmly on everyones radar as a future star in the making.
04. Nathan Fake - The Sky Was Pink (Alejo Gonzalez Bootleg) [Border Community | unreleased]
'The Sky Was Pink' was the lead single from Nathan Fake's debut LP 'Drowning In A Sea Of Love' and later became own for it's infamous radical dance-floor makeover care of Border Community label head James Holden.
"Straight out of the Norfolk countryside, 22 year old Nathan Fake is a most unlikely saviour of electronic music. His debut album Drowning in a Sea of Love is a truly enchanting collection of rocktronica at its finest -- loaded with Casio riffs, soaring fake-guitar lead lines, single live take recordings and a heap of lighters-in-the-air moments.
Containing the original live take of the psychedelic epic 'The Sky Was Pink' (prior to its remix transformation into the electro anthem of last summer), this is a ballsy, gutsy eleven track wall of computer-noise, underlined by a rock-solid production ethic which belies Fake's tender years. Who needs a full band anyway? Homegrown UK talent like Nathan Fake doesn't come along every day, and it is little wonder that he is one of so many people's 'Tips for 2006': a true breath of fresh air in a dance scene desperately seeking direction."
Here Alejo Gonzalez of Santa Fe, Argentina turns in an unofficial dreamlike remix filled with emotion while playing with the dark intensity of the original.
05. London Grammar - Hey Now (Sasha Remix) [Metal & Dust Recordings Ltd | MAD008]
Summer is pretty much in full swing now and we still have high quality releases to offer your ears. Sasha, Dale Howard, Gui Boratto, & more are on the house music charcuterie this week!
London Grammar is one of those groups whose already brilliant songs just really take off once the right producer comes in and remixes them. Here they’ve put out a remix album which includes tracks off of their LP and the standout of the bunch is none other than Sasha’s remix of “Hey Now”.
Known for his reconstructions and remixes as heard in the Involver albums, Sasha's remix of London Grammars "Hey Now" lives up to the high standards he has set.
06. Omar El Gamal - Cairo Scene (Michael A & Dmitry Molosh Remix) [Balkan Connection | Promo]
2013 saw a distinguished group of up and coming progressive house producers really start to hit their stride. Michael A. and Dmitry Molosh were both definitely part of that group. The two Belarus based producers added a number of solid outings to their discographies with appearances on 3rd Avenue, Dopamine and Particles. Michael and Dimitry were both individually noted for their pristine sounding studio creations that were rich in atmosphere and melody.
07. Cid Inc. - Darpa [Replug Records | RPLG031]
The 31st release on Replug Records sees label boss Cid Inc. returning for a brand new EP. Henri Hurtig aka Cid Inc. is now in what promises to be the most essential year of his storied production career. With forthcoming releases scheduled on Anjunadeep, Sudbeat and Lost & Found Cid Inc. is set to unveil some of the most cutting edge music to ever come out of his studio.
His new double A-side offering on Replug should be more than enough to his tide fans over as it offers two selections which have featured heavily in his sets over recent months.
'Seeker' leads the release off with an funky, energetic approach that is both fresh and inspiring. Cid Inc's undulating waves of bass combined with seductive melodic hooks and alluring sheets of noise make for a powerful first act. The bounce and drive are sure to be brilliant on the dance floor and carry the piece to the main break with ease. The filtered down middle portion maintains the killer groove all while delivering some palatable tension. As the modulation reaches a fiery peak the swirling atmospheres get washed away as the infectious groove reappears for a charged finale.
Diehard Cid Inc. fans have been calling for the release of 'Darpa' for quite some time and at long last it is available here. With it being a prominent element of the Swedish producer's sets in recent months the track has generated some much deserved attention from the electronic music underground.
All Cid Inc. grooves are meticulously crafted and carved to perfection but 'Darpa' may be one of Henri's most powerful studio compositions to date. The elastic-like bass stabs are adorned with a lovely acidic quality and make up the tracks energetic foundation. As the momentous rhythms build through the records first half waves of percussion, metallic hits and trippy electronics not only assault your senses but add a charging intensity to the tracks already impressive hypnotic swing. The main break is set for total dance floor exhilaration with a slow rolling wall of drum modulation adding the ultimate apex before the irresistible groove drops back in for a huge payoff.
A massive return for Cid Inc. on his Replug imprint with both tracks rivalling the best work to ever come of his studio. Highly Recommended.
08. Mike Griego & Stas Drive - Mocca Sunset [unreleased]
Very glad to say our joint venture with my friend Stas Drive / Quattar has been more than successful. Made two amazing tracks: "Savannah" and "Mocca Sunset". Hoping to find a beautiful home for these two. Maybe more? [Mike Griego]sigpicSimonR
This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.Comment
