    Release Notes:

    01. Tosca - Stuttgart (John Digweed & Nick Muir Remix) (Fatboy Slim presents Bem Brasil) [Decca | 377429 7]

"It's a big year for Brasil so I've asked some special friends to contribute Brasil inspired tracks for a Brasil inspired album" [Fatboy Slim]

Fatboy Slim returns as the "unofficial ambassador" to Brasil, with the soundtrack to this year’s biggest summer event, the world cup.

The album features brand new tracks and remixes by dj fresh, gregor salto, psychemagik, eats everything, dimitri vegas & like mike, claude von stroke, joey negro, John Digweed & Nick Muir. ‘fatboy slim presents bem brasil’ (roughly translated as ‘very brasil’) will undoubtedly be one of the hottest compilation albums of the summer.

    Format: unmixed 2xCD
    Cat: 377429 7
    Released: 09 Jun 14

    02. Pig&Dan - Supersonic (Destination Unknown LP) [Bedrock Records | BEDDEST01CD]

"Every once in a while a project comes along that blows you away. I was speaking to the the excellent producers Pig&Dan last year about a possible project focusing on their down tempo material. They presented me with this album a few months ago that completely blew my socks off. Then I said to them, how about working on a second CD to compliment the down-tempo ambient vibe, and they've come up with some amazing tracks.

The album 'Destination Unknown' is going to be released at the end of July. Full of mind blowing material, it's going to be an album that people want to own for the summer, it's a perfect album to have by the pool for relaxing to. It's got a real summer vibe to it." [John Digweed]

    Label: Bedrock Records
    Cat Nr: BEDDEST01CD
    Released: late July 2014

    03. Alex Niggemann - Materium [Poker Flat Recordings | PFR149]

Out today is Alex Niggemann's new and long anticipated double-A-side single "Materium / Primary" which contains one of the biggest and most hammered tunes of the moment as the title track "Materium" that already has caused serious dancefloor mayhem over the past weeks. "Primary" has already been premiered as exclusive pre-stream via Thump's US division over the weekend whilst Mr. Niggemann has been touring the states for the second half of his recent US-tour. Big up.

Poker Flat Recordings welcomes back the ever-prolific Alex Niggemann for another speaker-troubling dispatch. This time the Aeon and Soulfooled boss drops a heavy-duty release that more than lives up to his usual high standards.

'Materium' is epic in every sense of the word - a sprawling, tough journey into analogue techno with a dash of house thrown in. It rips through the speakers - the crisp and aggressive production provides the space for growling synths and atmospheric, tense pads. What’s more, the whole track audaciously dissolves into silence mid way through - before exploding back into life via a descending analog synth line.

'Primary' is no less dramatic but opts for a dubbier vibe as it builds and releases the ever-present tension. It’s hard, moody, electronic funk for after-hours, basements and warehouses.

    04. Leo Leal & Daniel Cantisani - Stems (Sascha Dive's Psycho Killer Dub Mix) [Promo]

    Very limited information

    05. Andromo - Full Effect (Mass Digital Remix) [Fade Records | Promo]

Andromo arrived on Fade in early 2013 [FD107] from one the new emerging Central American scenes in El Salvador. Adromo, given name Alejandro Martinez, is responsible for the growing underground movement and events bringing international touring DJs to showcase the underground sound. His Rainforest podcast series is a highlight in the region as well.

    06. Stelios Vassiloudis & Sasse - Refuse [Audiomatique Recordings | AM58]

Berlin-based Klas Sasse Lindblad teams up once more with Athens' Stelios Vassiloudis to drop some more pure pressure for Audiomatique - subsequent to their 2013 release 'Options & Futures'. Sasse has been making house for the best part of 20 years, both for his own Moodmusic label and many other imprints. Stelios Vassiloudis has also carved out his own niche, not least via his debut album on John Digweed's Bedrock label.

Here they combine their strengths again for this exceptional release - 'Refuse' is a deep, snarling house bomb, dripping in sex and sweat. The bass-line struggles to free itself from its moorings, mutating and evolving menacingly over the tight, driving rhythm. Play with caution - things may get messy. Johannes Brecht's remix takes things even further down the rabbit hole - strange bleeps and blips tear through the track, which has been streamlined into a slick tech workout.

Beatport customers also get access to the killer dub version, which somehow manages to tame the wild bass-line but turns up the heat on the groove.

    Label: Audiomatique Recordings
    Cat Nr: AM58
    Released: 19 May 2014

    07. Douglas Greed - Hush (Driven LP) [Bpitch Control | BPC288]

How do you stay true to your own sound without repeating yourself? How do you free yourself from the burden of wild expectations? Ultimately, how do you create a difficult second album that bucks the trend and sounds at least as fresh and enduring as the first?

Rather than searching for answers to all these questions, Douglas Greed ploughs headlong into his second BPitch Control LP Driven, leaving needless doubts for dust in his rear-view mirror. Just keep on going! Someone else can do the soul-searching, he prefers to dedicate his heart and mind to new tracks. In any case, he was never short of passion or ideas.

Douglas Greed has always been driven, and his nature rarely allows him to remain in one place on the genre map for too long. With a musical upbringing ranging from hip hop jams and drum'n'bass parties to the darker avenues of pop ŕ la Joy Division, Depeche Mode or Radiohead, his recent years as a producer and live act have always involved thinking far beyond the usual framework of techno and house. The results of these thought processes, always incorporating the hours away from the dance floor, have already been laid bare on his debut album KRL (Freude am Tanzen) and singles for labels including Infiné, Acker and Gigolo.Driven continues seamlessly in this vein with eleven tracks as rich in variety as they are in detail.

The format offers plenty of room to cover a broad stylistic range, always driven by the search for new musical possibilities: from the boisterous peak-time hit Summerless to dance floor gems like Hush Hush and B12. From the yearning pulse of Further to the galloping UK patterns of Fire 5. The featured vocals are another stand-out element of the album: Long Distance Swimmer is arranged around Anna Müller's dreamy voice, My Mind is a Monkey has support from Delhia, the previously released single This Time feat. Kuss and the title track Driven feature the unmistakable voice of his Eating Snow colleague Mooryc.

Throughout the album, Douglas Greed plays with changing moods and tempos, always retaining the perfect balance between track and song, playing equally to his strengths as a euphoric stage performer and a sensitive soul. The exhilarating depth and maturity of his sound and his independent production process mean that all these elements combine on Driven to whisk the listener away on a grand journey. This is a journey driven by the desire for new horizons that effortlessly opens our eyes and ears, revealing that the heart of electronic music still beats loud enough to pump endorphins through our veins. It reveals the road ahead for anyone who, like Douglas Greed, likes to throw themselves wholeheartedly into each new venture. And those who are open to the challenge are likely to complete even mammoth tasks like the dreaded second album with great aplomb.

    08. Luca Bacchetti - The Space Between Us (OVO EP) [Endless | NDL06]

By now we have become used to sudden changes of direction; but we’d already gathered his real intentions following the popular remix of “Lonely Stars In Open Skies” on All Day I Dream with which Luca jump started 2014.

Now OVO, the eagerly awaited new Luca Bacchetti EP, is here!

With this work on his ENDLESS imprint, Luca seems to be delineating a new soundscape, maintaining the psychedelia he introduced into his productions a few years ago; but now more synthetic and in some ways even minimalist.
In OVO we can find a brace of dancefloor tracks, No Gravity and The Space Between Us, that maintain and harness Luca's emotional and intricate atmospheres whilst also employing powerful sounds and elements that embrace the movement of the body. Mature, emotional Techno, where ethereal dream-like atmospheres find a singular expression and their own distinct identity. It is no coincidence that the whole EP was recorded entirely high up in the Tosco Emiliano Apennines: a place where, for Luca, Nature is the element that most influences this new aural pathway. As he himself states: “It’s this contrast between isolated lands and the chaos of the big city that produces this state of being: a new dialogue. They are two worlds which overlap within my soul: when I’m in New York I think of these mountains and when I’m here I think of the bustle of tour life .. but it’s up here that I find the seed, in this case OVO.”

The beautiful ambient masterpiece, OVO, was recorded in December 2013 and features Stefano Onorati, jazz musician and long time friend of Luca. The 15 minute opus was then finished in April 2014 and now sees its unveiling.

    ENDLESS - Catalogue Number: NDL006

All tracks written by Luca Bacchetti and Stefano Onorati during the Mountains Sessions, Chiozza, december 2013. Produced and arranged by Luca Bacchetti at Give Peace a Chance Studio, Barcelona, february 2014. OVO has been recorded at Chiozza Studio , april 2014.
