    Release Info:

    01. Marco Bailey - Cataleya (Underground Sound of Ibiza) [Bedrock Records | Promo]

Downtempo and chilled grooves on CD1 followed by more up tempo club tracks on CD2.

    Released by: Bedrock Records
    Release/catalogue number: Bedibizacd1
    Release Date: 7 July 2014

    02. Marshall White - Tempus Fugit (Jimmy Van M & 3LIAS Remix) [Asia Music | AM028]
    04. Marshall White feat. Nathalie Gillabert - Ayahuasca Blues [Asia Music | AM028]

Following his impressive debut release on Asia Music, Philippine based Ecuadorian-Swiss DJ/Producer/Musician, Marshall White strikes again with another EP, this one entitled “Tempus Fugit” which contains 3 solid eclectic original tracks and one remix. Marshall White who is a big fan of non-commercial electronic music and new age jazz, hits us with this crazy 4 track collection, “Tempus Fugit”, the EP’s title and carrier single alongside “Ayahuasca Blues” and “The Other Side of Me” which both feature vocals from singers Nathalie Gillabert and Tino Valentino.

“Tempus Fugit” holds a strong bass-line with basic cuts, snares and signed by a wah-ing guitar at the back – a track that can definitely be dropped anytime, anyplace. The second original is deep, techy, driving “Ayahuasca Blues” Feat. Nathalie Gillabert’s stripped down vox which is another future favourite in your list.

And the third original on this EP is “The Other Side of Me” which showcases the voice of Tino Valentino aka Anton Santos Saldana – this deep house track is the “other side” of the two original tracks which is always evident in a Marshall White experience.

To top off this EP we have a superb collaboration remix in from Jimmy Van M and 3LIAS who have come in with a wicked interpretation of Marshall’s “Tempus Fugit” and further built on Marshall’s funk elements and given it the tech edge treatment, a great compliment to the original cut and an excellent addition to this release.

    03. Ambos & ProFound - Basic (Secret Weapons Vol. 2 EP) [Serkal Music | SERKAL 024]

NYC's Serkal is an imprint forged on the premise of underground music. Maintaining a focus on artist development, the Serkal team has prioritised the releasing of quality music from the best upcoming and well established producers from around the globe . Founded by the NYC based nightlife entrepreneurs behind Sankeys Ibiza Robert Toma and Anthony Piacquadio and under the artistic command of Co-Founders Dave Rosario and Sebastian Oscilla, Serkal as a project has been several years in the making.

Serkal quickly emerged as a label on many leading DJs’ shortlists due to their unrelenting dedication to the underground niche and it’s next generation artists. Offering listeners an opportunity to purchase releases both digitally and on vinyl, Serkal stands as one of the few contemporary imprints that embraces the methodologies of old school record labels. Promising much more to be unveiled in the near future - which includes three Serkal showcases at Sankeys Ibiza in 2013 with plans to expand shortly after the summer season along with releases from countless international talents - Serkal has surged to the forefront of labels to look out for.

    05. Michel De Hey & Rauwkost - Julienzzz [Bedrock Records | Beddigi50]

This collaboration between one of Hollands most influential techno DJ/producers - Michel de Hey - and Amsterdams highly original Rauwkost, is an incredibly exciting meeting of creative minds. The end results - Julienzzz flying high on a deep throbbing techno backbone overlaid with hypnotic melody flourishes, and the counterbalancing Gibsome taking on a more laid back, deeply groovy warmness and heartfelt, soulful, spiritual vibe - are nothing short of extraordinarily superb.

The creator of some of the freshest sounds in techno music in recent years, fellow Dutchman, Ramon Tapia, is also on fire here. For his remix of Julienzzz, a teasing percussive intro leads into a monstrous, infectious, booming groove that is sure to cause chaos all summer long. Italy is also strongly represented here by the super-hot production duo - Paolo Martini & Paul C, who never fail to impress. Their catchy and bouncy techno remix style rides high on a rhythm that has the groove and swing factor turned up to the max.

If you like what you hear here, then don't miss Ramon Tapias next monster release, also coming on Bedrock on June 23rd, in the form of a collaborative project with Stavroz, called Havana.

    Release/catalogue number: BEDDIGI50
    Release date: 9 June 2014

    06. Martin Buttrich & Audiofly - 9th Configuration (Uniformal Processing EP) [Supernature | SPN036]

A match made in groove heaven, both acts have long-since established a pedigree for timeless tracks. Complementing each other’s sonic sentiments like well-tailored suits, the three men initially collided in a Barcelona studio late last year. They enjoyed such a creative spree there’s a wealth of material about to come our way. And it starts here with these three seismic slabs of deep, rolling gold. Press play…

“Uniformal Processing” purrs with dub science. Once we’ve acquainted ourselves with the rolling techy drum dynamic, we’re introduced to an array of elements… A harrowed, heavily-processed vocal sample, eerie subtle synth textures and a bassline so rich in warmth and weight it initiates an organic swing that hypnotise any dancefloor within a five mile radius.

The theme of hypnosis is maintained throughout “9th Configuration”. Deeper, darker and more dramatic than the title track, it’s built on a bedrock of silky, slinky, detailed percussion and progressively builds by way of a dominant riser and sincere sub bass penetration. Through the darkness a shimmering arpeggio takes hold. Rippling and wriggling amid the elements it’s a quintessential balance of shades that twists, turns and teases throughout the eight minute adventure.

Last but definitely not least we hit “Something Happier”. Living up to its name, it departs from the heavier tech flavour of the previous two tracks and shuffles with a groovier, bass-led swing and a more uplifting set of synth colours. The drums gradually build with percussive clarity before we’re dropped into a blissfully light synth refrain which triggers an even funkier bassline twist and more infectious, hip-shaking rhythmic elements.

A beautiful way to conclude a beautiful EP. And just in case you need to be even happier… Let us remind you: there is more to come from this next-level partnership! We can’t wait to deliver it.
