Release Notes:
01. Moderat - This Time (Daraspa Bootleg) [Monkeytown Records | unreleased]
Moderat stands for the collaboration between Modeselektor and Apparat, the the name forming a combination of Modeselektor (Mode) Apparat (rat).
'This Time' was the second advance single from Moderat’s second studio album album II [Monkeytown Records / Mute | 9571-1]has just been made available to listen to online, entitled This Time. The track, which comes drenched in the group’s signature atmospherics, building to an expansive throb.
"This Time is a grand swell of swarming bass, trance and delicate ambient electronica, which tugs at the heart strings without resorting to cliché. It sounds like the unique product it is: Apparat's introspection and minimalism, combined with Modeselektor's toughness and brashness.' [Resident Adviser]
Amsterdam's Daraspa`s big passion in life is music and he holds no musical boundary as what he listens or what he will play for the people on the dance-floor. The roots of this musical style was developed in the nineties when electronic music became his passion while going to famous clubs in Amsterdam like the Roxy.
Recently Daraspa picked up producing records. His first EP is planned for a release on 25th of november on Sound Avenue. His second EP will be released on 16th december on Gentlemen Lounge Records.
The main ingredients for his own productions and music are soulful and warm elements. His sound can be best described as deep, soulful and melodic. This style is often experienced as very intimate. His musical journey captures the emotions amongst his listeners which leads to those very special and lasting moments that are long remembered.
’Human Touch” is the fifth single from Grum’s forthcoming album.
His previous singles “Everytime”, “The Theme”, “In Love” and “Tears” have been hammered across the board at BBC Radio 1. From Zane to Annie Mac, Pete Tong to B Traits, Monki to Danny Howard (who is such a fan he had Grum do an exclusive mix for his Dance Anthems show last weekend) the support for Grum’s original music has been incredible. If you add in his remixes for the likes of Shift K3y, Sigma, Chromeo & Martin Garrix he’s one of the most consistently played producer/remixers right now.
It’s no surprise then that Radio 1 have asked Grum to create his first Essential Mix. Due to be broadcast on the 24th of May it will bring up 4 years exactly since his debut album “Heartbeats” was released and complete Grum’s transformation from the young producer that came out of the blogs to a fully-fledged dance music headliner.
And that’s because Grum is more than a radio act. His recent singles have had the kind of DJ support that reads like a who’s who in club land: Solomun, Hot Since 82, Scuba, Sasha, Disclosure, Above & Beyond, DJ T, Bookashade, Axwell, Drums of Death, Slam, Russ Chimes, Tube & Berger, Huxley, Coyu, Joyce Muniz, Leftwing & Kody, Groove Armada, John Digweed, Mano Le Tough, Doctor Dru, Tensnake, Axwell, Digitalism, EDX, Mark Knight, Funk D’Void… the list goes on.
“Human Touch” is arguably Grum’s deepest, housiest release to date. But of course, since this is Grum, we’re not talking about some po-faced, chin stroking dull-strumental, this is house music that will put a smile on your face, love in your heart and a warm glow on the dance-floor.
Remixes come from Sébastien Léger (tough, jacking house), Solaris Heights (Sasha style deepness) and Andre Sobota (killer modern progressive). “Human Touch” will be released on Grum’s label Heartbeats on the 30th of June.’’
Infusing sultry sounds and rich grooves, is Soul Button's latest EP ʻSwift Mindsʼ. It's his first Steyoyoke release for 2014 and once again, it's those soaring melodies and uplifting vibes that will have every deep house lover feeling satisfied in no time. Comprising of two originals and two remixes from up and comers Dahu and Whomi, it is with no surprise that ʻSwift Mindsʼ is launched with much anticipation.
The title track ʻSwift Mindsʼ is both vibrant and bold, bringing with it a strong sense of great depth and beauty. Possessing a steady bass line and deep haunting riffs, it is also delicately laced with the lullaby styled vocals of Kara Square. The power behind her voice, literally draws you in and attunes your ears to a chorus of divine whispers.
ʻ7th Heavenʼ is quickly defined by it's intensity and subtle progression. Creating a solid backdrop of uplifting grooves, this track has the presence and strength to put a spell on you. Stabbing synths and hard hitting hats are complimented perfectly with an array of harmonious bells and chimes which wash over you like a melodic wave.
In a mirrored parallel of ʻSwift Mindsʼ, Whomi's remix maintains all the sultry characteristics of it's original. However it is a much punchier version, allowing for some of the tracks more unique features to surface. Expect darker soundscapes and intricately layered percussion.
The final track on ʻSwift Mindsʼ is Dahu's remix of ʻ7th Heavenʼ. Silver lined with authentic underground sounds, Dahu chooses a slightly more stripped back approach for this remix. Raw dark melodies and hefty bass lines are the key elements in revealing this tracks inner twisted elegance.

04. Bageera - Baby Boi (Deep Future Remix) (Espai For All Ramixed Vol. 1) [Aspai Music | EMR001]
Our 'Espai For All' compilation of 2012 featured no less than 20 original tracks from an array of artists, both established and new. Fast forward to 2014, and the label felt it was time to revisit some of it's key moments, with a fresh twist from some of the project's existing artists and new blood.
'Espai For All remixed vol. 1' is the first in a series of EPs looking back at a selection of those tracks, this time including remixes from Days Off, Satoshi Fumi, Andy Kneale and Deep Future.
Days Off takes the reins with Escape From Atlantis by Black I.C.E., creating a bass heavy groove to constrast perfectly with the uplifting break.
Andy Kneale star continues to rise with a hypnotic melody-laden techno workout perfect for the late-night dancefloors.
The inimitable Satoshi Fumi teams up with his friend Takuya Yamashita to revisit 'GRB', putting together a trademark blend of uplifting chords and melodies underpinned by a rock steady Detroit groove.
Bageera's 'Baby Boi' closes the release, this time getting the treatment of Deep Future. Both artists featured on the original compilation and have been regulars on the label since it's conception, so it's fitting that both are involved again.
Deep Future's deep, emotive style is once again evident here, utilising some of the track's original vocal excerpts to muster a beautiful update.
We hope you enjoy.

05. Mikael Delta - New Day (Cristian R Unofficial Remix) [Klik Records | unreleased]
Original was released on the 'Deep Inside LP' [Klik Records | KLCD013] in 2004. Mikael Delta is one of the most prolific and influential artists in Greece in the past decade and one of the few who managed to become household names internationally. With releases in France, Belgium, Germany and the U.K., this talented musician took foreign media by surprise by simply declaring his origin. Today’s booming Greek electronica scene owes a lot to this true pioneer and all around great guy!
Mikael Delta began his career as a member of the band Stereo Nova who caught MTV Europe’s attention immediately. His first solo release came in 1994 entitled “The Picture”, under Belgian techno label R & S Records. The British Music Press gave him rave reviews on his second album “Blue Emotions”, released in 1999 by Glasgow Underground Records. In 2001, under the French label Distance Records he released “Halcyon Days”, an album that ended up in DJ magazine’s best albums of the year list and made him widely known as a producer. In 2002 he released the album “Vulnerable”, under the same label, featuring the German electro–diva Billie Ray Martin and producing the hit single “I Am Not Keen”.
In 2004 he signed with the Greek electronica label Klik Records, releasing three albums “Dancing with an angel” (2004), “Deep inside” (2005) and “Timeless beauty” (2006). You’ll find his name on several remixes on labels such as Atal music & Defected and among them the memorable “Mikael Delta's Electronized Mix” on Timewriter’s “Room Of A Million Rainbows” for Plastic City.
Cristian R was born in the town of Temperley, Buenos Aires province. Taking his first steps in electronic music were from the year 98, he began to hear the famous radio Energy, which in its time was the most listened, fascinated by several programs, such as the vinyl, the beat, urban groove, etc. before stating producing in 2008 through Latinamericasound (dj Agency of Colombia) which released his first tracks. Now he features regularly on Resident.
There are few artists who are quite so synonymous with the trio of Proton labels, as Oscar van der Knaap. Under his Exoplanet production guise, well over a century of combined production credits have been attributed to Proton Music, Apollo and Particles, with the latter accounting for over 85 in its own right and furthering the journey here with the exciting, "Great Adventures" EP. A production dynamo, Exoplanet's innovative approach to his craft is centred upon the experience of synaesthesia. A neurological phenomenon in which one sensory perception leads to unconscious experiences in a secondary cognitive pathway - often sound experienced as colour - Exoplanet's own, individual encounter with synaesthesia allows him to "view sounds as geometrical objects with a tactile texture". A common aid to the creative process, the phenomenon thus enables him to approach the construct of sound in conjunction with parallel interests in philosophy, science and literature. Such a cultured and erudite approach has produced a bountiful supply of truly original work which leading to such innovative EPs as "Synthetic Evolution", "Mindstream" and "Silver Flower" for Particles, while the debut "Nothing Divides Us Here" album went on to become 2011's best-selling release on Proton Music.
Supported by a veritable galaxy of superstar DJs from Barry Jamieson and Chloe Harris, to Eelke Kleijn and Lank, a recent foray into techno with his "Frosty Realms" EP on Apollo, further demonstrated a repertoire of skills beyond the scope of mere mortals. A musical vignette, inspired themes inherent in its title demonstrate "Great Adventures" as a work of boundless scope. Each of the three tracks provides a tantalising a ten-minute expedition across a landscape littered with aural texture, conjuring up images of inter-stellar travel and the philosophies and phenomena so dear to Exoplanet's heart. Echoes of a bygone era, of electronic music with soul and presence, are unmistakeable as artists such as Banco di Gaia, The Shamen and Future Sound of London resonate throughout.
Both, "Flux of Nature" and "You're a Star" pay tribute the halcyon days where Roland's TB-303 reigned supreme, supplemented, in the case of the former, by richly textured soundscapes, choir-filled pads and glassy sounding melodies, and by an intricate vocal with pitched and glitched formants, in the latter. Precision beats and crystalline lead lines pierce the frequency spectrum in pitch-perfect poise and grace as "Intrepid Traveller" sums up the thematic concepts of the EP. Thus the sounds of Goa and Psy music have evolved seamlessly into present-day 21st century with Exoplanet's passion for IDM still providing a core tenet in symbiotic relationship between modern characteristics of groove, rhythm and melodic progression. As Exoplanet's portfolio of skills shows no sign of diminishment, his ethereal "Great Adventures" are a welcome escape from the travails of earth bound mundanities.

08. Julian Rodriguez - Tequila Al Atardecer (Erich Von Kollar Haunted Beach Remix) [Underground Music Records | UMR 043]
Underground Music Records is a Greek label founded at 2012 by Tasos Karavidas (DJ Duma) and Ilias Kantartzis (Ilias Kat). This label is interested in releasing and promoting progressive house - deep dark progressive music.
When it comes to charming feel-good progressive house, no one does it better than Dutch producer Arjuna Schiks. His unique sound speaks to optimistic sunny days and straddles a harmonious line between dream-like landscapes and the dancefloor. His latest EP for Wide Angle Recordings, First Thought, is no exception. The release contains two of Arjuna Schiks’ most memorable tracks that will stand out as fan highlights from a number of his recent sets. First Thought demonstrates exactly why Arjuna has become a festival favourite and fits perfectly with the ethos of Wide Angle Recordings; quality electronic music with heart.
The EP begins with First Thought, an uplifting melodic track that surges with lush synths and crisp percussion. The track begins in a humble manner but soon works its way to a powerful build of dazzling harmonies and warm massive pads.
The second track, Complete, leans more towards the sound that has become synonymous with Arjuna Schiks. Light driving rhythms and ultra-catchy melodies dominate this track as it rolls along with swelling intensity.
Australian producer Jamie Stevens, who has been on fire with recent releases on Microcastle, joins the EP with two interpretations of Complete. The first is aimed squarely at the dancefloor with a groovy drive and huge spacey breakdown. Jamie’s Galactic Version shows off a more experimental side of the artist with a scaled-down electronica remix that will find itself at the beginning or end of many sets in the months ahead.
Arjuna Schiks’ First Thought is the perfect release for spring and a must-have for progressive house DJs and fans alike.
