I think it's interesting to judge a live set outside of the context and environment in which it was created in. It's one long old moment basically one its already happened. It's kind of like watching theater on TV. The medium wasn't meant for TV it was meant to be experienced in that moment in that theater. The way I see it, some live theater might have a chance at being appreciated after the fact viewed on TV, but if it doesn't, that does not mean it wasn't enjoyable to the audience. Same with live concerts. Some of them can be appreciated whilst viewing the recording on TV or a laptop. While others are not going to be good after the fact. But when you watch the crowd in that recording they were going nuts, in that moment in that environment. Having said all of that, it is pretty incredible when a live set does sound amazing years and years after it was done. I wonder which DJ has the most live sets that still sound good today? I think I'll start a thread about that .

yah - there was a lot going on in my post, but mostly I was just saying that live sets are interesting to judge when you are sitting at home and weren't actually there. It could have been great at the club, but shit listened to at home.
