Re: Random Thoughts
I know what you mean dude, had a similar feeling about 2 years ago. The solution for me (us) was to change everything: we quit our corporate jobs, sold our big house, sold our fancy car, sold half of the shit we had accumulated, and moved 1700 miles to a remote part of the world to live more outdoors, with less, more simply. We accomplished all of that in about a 45 day span. It worked like a fucking charm. You don't have to change everything, but change something, anything, and do it big and with conviction and just see what happens. Life is not a dress rehearsal.Comment

Many years ago, when I used to live in a house, It happend to me a couple of times. I remember climbing to the roof and breaking in through the back door. My dog went nuts until he recognized me, that was the hardest part. It´s a spiritual thing!

Re: Random Thoughts
As for the "rut"...it wasn't necessarily a rut, we'd just gotten to the point where we were successful but we were working jobs we hated to pay for "success," at least in terms of what most people think success means in America. That success afforded us the ability to travel a lot and we saw a lot of the world, which in hindsight ended up being the catalyst for the change. Seeing truly happy people in Guatemala with none of the luxuries Americans are afforded, visiting small towns in New Zealand meeting people separated from the rest of the world and smiling ear to ear amid vast gorgeous landscapes. When you return from experiences like these and numerous other ones to rush hour traffic, the city grid, and an email inbox and phone calls of work nonsense you honestly don't give a fuck about, you start to examine what happiness really means, turns out it wasn't the race we were running.
If you think you'd like to make a change, no matter how big or small, do it. It is insane how quickly life moves along, don't get caught at 70 wishing you'd tried something else.Comment
