    08. Alan Fitzpatrick - Memories Of A Time Once Past But Long Forgotten (Truant EP) [Cocoon Recordings | COR12"118]

Alan Fitzpatrick is one of the men of the moment speaking of all things techno! Since his first steps into the arena in 2008 he turned into one of the most wanted producers around. His releases on labels like "Quartz", "My Favorite Robot" and especially on "Drumcode" brought him on par with the first line of international techno producers and DJs. So we are more than happy that the man who rocked 2013 xxl will be the featured artist of our next release on Cocoon Recordings.

His tracks "Memories Of A Time Once Past But Long Forgotten" and "Truant" are two real techno highlights that follow the basic vibe of the his last releases. Deep emotional techno full of warm chords and analogue bass-lines merged with cool beats to get that special Fitzpatrick vibe. Music for dance-floors and living rooms at the same time, charismatic and dynamic! Alan Fitzpatrick is not just another name to be watched. He found his style and shows this in every track and in every of his DJ-sets that he played over the last months in Europe, North America, South America and Asia.

    02. Kasper Bjørke - Sylvia (feat. CTM) (A/JUS/TED Remix) [hfn Music | HFN35]

Kasper Bjørke now drops the 2nd single from his much anticipated new album “After Forever” - just in time for the summer.

Following on from ‘Rush’ in March this year, the Danish producer introduces us to ‘Sylvia’ (feat. CTM) – a timeless and melancholic production, inspired by the likes of Jean Michelle Jarre and Vangelis. Crisp drum machines, chorus synth basslines and wavey pads interact perfectly with the echoes of submerged steel drums.

The haunting, soulful vocals and synths come from Danish artist CTM (aka Cæcilie Trier) - also well known for her project Chimes & Bells and as part of Choir Of Young Believers. The vocals of CTM call to mind a dreamy, sensual 80´s vibe similar to Sade and Alison Moyet – but with a certain prickly, narcotic underside.

On the remix side of things, DFA-affiliated duo A/JUS/TED (Justin Strauss and Teddy Stuart) have been stirring up things lately with great remixes for Holy Ghost, Blood Orange, etc. Their rework fires up ‘Sylvia’ with a tough and edgy mix for the floor with that New York summer flavour that keeps the deep essence of the original intact.

Composite Records owner Tiago Fragateiro delivers the other remix - the Portuguese producer expands the original to almost 9 minutes through a deep and raw Detroit-influenced jam that ebbs and flows throughout, thick with drama and emotion yet somehow completely understated and with much respect to the orginal composition.

Puerto Rican, Berlin based dancer and choreographer Kiani del Valle has created the video for ‘Sylvia’, which is set to premiere in June alongside the single release.

Kiani has previously worked on videos for the likes of Matthew Dear and Brandt Brauer Frick - and she approached Kasper this spring and asked if he would like to make a collaboration. The result is a hand held documentary style solo dance video, transforming ‘Sylvia’ into a modern dance piece.

The fourth album from Kasper Bjørke, “After Forever”, is set for a release on September 15th.

    Release Date: 23 June 2014

    04. Gorgon City ft. Laura Welsh - Here For You (Deetron Remix) [Virgin | GCV002]

Rack N Ruin and Foamo have experienced a meteoric rise to the top under their joint alias Gorgon City and with a track in the UK top ten and a set of summer tour dates that span the entire globe, these boys are on a roll.

A1. Here For You (Extended Mix)
B1. Here For You (Deetron Remix)
B2. Here For You (Deetron Dub)

To continue their strong run of form they're gearing up to release new single ‘Here For You’ featuring the vocal talents of Laura Welsh. Once again the same winning, Gorgon City formula has been applied, with thick bass-lines, rolling grooves and sultry vocals to guide you through.

The track has been given an excellent remix by none other than Swiss maestro Deetron and this one is an absolute work-out.

Limited Edition 12" Vinyl ships 15th June

    05. Essáy - Ocarina (Dominik Eulberg Remix) [Cascine | CSN043]

Cascine presents an EP by Essáy. Featuring remixes by The Field, Dominik Eulberg, and Drugs.

Cascine began as a conversation during winter walks in Florence and Stockholm. When it returned to California, the idea continued to bubble until finally, over noodles with Magnus and My on Melrose, it rose to the surface and found its footing.
Cascine is based in New York and London, and is brothers-in-spirit with the late Service of Sweden. It's focus is alternative pop.

It's a pleasure to welcome Essáy to Cascine family, a young producer from Germany making fine-textured, melodic compositions that blend the boundaries between ambient and house music. Here's his new single Ocarina - taken from from the Ocarina EP, out July 1 on Cascine (North America) and Glyph (UK).

    Released by: CASCINE
    Release/catalogue number: CSN043
    Release date: 1 July 2014

    [Impose Magazine]

The other day we helped introduce you to Essáy, a world where the mid-tempo house breaks into an outpouring of lights that can calm the most unruly of waters. Over the course of eight-plus minutes, sounds blink and muffle, each change punctuating outward to catch a deep breath of fresh air. There are times when the self and its location are immediately forgotten as the world becomes a living, animated graphic novel to explore. Beginnings and endings here have the same meanings as the spaces in between, as one imagines this as a soundtrack to opening and/or closing credits sequence.

Essáy, is the project of Heidelberg's Simon Schilling, who delivers all of the aforementioned gifts by cracking open the air flow of sea shells on the title track, "Ocarina". Taken from the upcoming EP of the same name, available July 1 from Cascine, Schilling's neat-new takes on the atmospheric syntheses are met with remixes from guests like The Field, Dominik Eulberg and Drugs. Stick around after the listen as we present a long-distance conversation with Simon in a unique glimpse into the creative world of Essáy.

    Q. Where you in anyway inspired by the music from The Legend of Zelda's Ocarina of Time?

Not only the name, but some of the key progressions reminded me of the more atmospheric moments from that N64 game. One of my biggest inspirations is my girlfriend. We like watching animes and playing SNES from time to time, so the combination of Inuyasha and Zelda lead to my new track "Ocarina". I was looking for a title and the sound of the flute reminded her of the flute from Zelda

    Q. What was the process of recording the Ocarina EP like?

Last year in December I started to prepare a set for the BPM Festival. Thinking about the beach, sun and happiness, I sat down and made "Ocarina". I love the catchy flute melody, it's chilled and kinda progressive and it's like that the melody claims me to stand up and dance. Lyla is an older track that I still love and I think it fits very well on the EP. After getting lovely words from Dominik Eulberg, I wanted him to remix this track and I think it's a banger! Michael from Glyph Recordings was able to get The Field. I love his style, rough but warm, reduced but detailed. D/R/U/G/S also did a very good job. I like having one idea in many different contexts.

    Q. On the title track, "Ocarina", how do you make those stuttered key waves of oscillated sound?

It's really wild and mind flipping. It's just playing with samples, cutting and setting accents. Honestly, I love this style but I think I am about to overuse it, haha. No stagnation.

    06. Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons - Lovers' Eyes (Mohe Pi Ki Najariya) (Carl Craig Remix) [Crosstown Rebels | CRM127]

The single 'Lovers' Eyes (Mohe Pi Ki Najariya)' is the first release from Lazarus's new collaborative artist project, which will build towards an album and live shows in early 2015.

Lazarus has been joined at the production controls by James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco, Arctic Monkeys, Florence), with album recording sessions completed in Mexico in February. Ancient Moons brings together a wide assortment of vocalists, collaborators and players, from around the world, with more details of this heady mix to be released in the near future.

Taking inspiration from Lazarus's Lazpod series, Get Lost events and Day Zero festival in Mexico, this is music for deserts, jungles and sunrises.

Lazarus explains: "There is nothing that compares to DJing under the stars in the night air or being responsible for soundtracking the rising of the sun in the morning and I wanted to create an album that reflects these beautiful moments.”

Getting the ball rolling is ‘Lovers' Eyes (Mohe Pi Ki Najariya)’, a single that promises to be one of the year's more unique and distinctive electronic music releases. Vocalists Fareed Ayaz, Abu Muhammad and Hamza Akram are Pakistan's leading Qawwali singers. Qawwali takes the form of a series of thematically and formally linked verses, and is steeped in a tradition that can be traced back to the 13th Century. Lazarus first encountered Fareed Ayaz and co. performing in the film 'Reluctant Fundamentalist', starring Riz Ahmed. Riz, who also records for Crosstown Rebels, made the necessary introductions, and the unique collaboration was born.

On ‘Lovers' Eyes (Mohe Pi Ki Najariya)' they sing of cosmic love, and the four eyes of the lovers becoming one. Set to Lazarus and Ford's incendiary techno production, the result has been causing chaos on the dancefloor. Early tastemaker reactions has seen everyone from Skrillex to the BBC Asian Network, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs to Carl Craig chiming their approval, and with Pete Tong awarding ‘Lovers' Eyes' Essential New Tune on Radio 1, this has all the hallmarks of being one of those wonderful electronic music curveballs that confuses and delights in equal measure.

The Ancient Moons have entered our orbit.

    Released by: Crosstown Rebels
    Release/catalogue number: CRM126
    Release date: 30 June 2014

    [Deejay.de]

Damian Lazarus and the Ancient Moons debut single on Crosstown Rebel's get's remixed by Carl Craig & Willie Burns. The original version of 'Lovers' Eyes (Mohe Pi Ki Najariya)' is the first release from Lazarus's new collaborative artist project, and is quickly becoming one of this years anticipated records. Now, hot on it's heels comes two killer remixes to compliment the original.

On the A Side Carl Craig impeccably tweaks and twists Lazarus original version into submission. A barrage of growling synths and drums drives this version front and centre to the dance-floor, Carl works his magic in creating something truly unique with this remix. He succeeds in doing justice to original whilst taking it further and darker into the abyss. On the flip and Willie Burns (Crème Organization / L.I.E.S.) loops Fareed Ayaz, Abu Muhammad and Hamza Akram vocals to maximum hypnotic effect. A cavalcade of lopped, layered vocals build and beguile over the swelling electronic resonance of Willie's sparse yet powerful production.

Two great remixes that are already seeing some heavy disco rotation, and are set to highlight this Summers dance-floors with some Quwwali Electronic mayhem!

    Released 30th June 2014

    07. Guy J - Lamur (Sebastien Léger Remix) (Underground Sound of Ibiza) [Bedrock Records | Bedibizacd1]

After the highly successful Miami releases and with all three CD's of the series completely selling out, Bedrock are extremely proud to present their first ever Underground Sound of Ibiza album release.

The double CD features a poolside/daytime vibe on one disc full of laid back balearic beats perfect for those summer days featuring exclusive new music from the likes of Pig&Dan, Charlie May and King Unique alongside some special new versions and takes on some of our recent releases from The Japanese Popstars, Jimmy Van M and Oniris and of course the ambient version of Jemmy's "Waterloo Blues" which caused a huge stir when it was broadcast from the Transitions 500 Miami boat party.
