Interestingly I recently watched a chat between Richard Dawkins and Lawrence Krause and one of the things they brought up was that educating women is the best way out of poverty. Atheists seem to like women

It was a great show, it was wonderful to see really intelligent minds bouncing off each other . Watching Richard Dawkins fully engaged instead of just tolerating was really good !!

On one hand, I get that a private business has the right to run its business in certain ways.

On the other hand, I really don't like the idea of a private business using religion as an excuse to weasel out of a lot of obligations and rules, or for justifying things like "oh, we don't serve gays / blacks / asians here...it's against our religion.."

^^ It's more than that, they'll cover Viagra and Vasectomies for men, but not IUDs and Plan B pills (which prevent implantation thus preventing the need for an abortion) and contraception that 1.5 million women use for health reasons other than to prevent pregnancy. They're not just weaseling out of rules, they weaseled out of a LAW. This is the best article (by The Daily Beast) I've read outlining the 5 basic misconceptions religious conservatives are misinformed about on what's happened and just how discriminating this is, not only against women, but also against "religion." (below) PLUS, their 401K plan contradicts their whole case.... so it's all about $$.. and you can't serve two masters God & money. I believe they will feel the backlash from women in our country in their "for-profit" margin very soon!!

It's a travesty and when I heard about it, I was so upset inside all day, then read FL's "chicks, females, madame, princesses" labels and it sent me into a tizzy that wasn't really about his post, just my own rage at the justice system and discrimination against women in general; anything even slightly derogatory ticked me off that day; I was even arguing with my husband about the case because he was misinformed; he had no idea they were still covering Viagra and vasectomies. We're women, we're people, we have person-hood just like men, we're all human beings, we all have health concerns, yet there's this double standard & judgements with anything having to do with sex or reproduction, it's time it stop... way passed time. The ACA passed for equality and then was practically overturned by Hobby Lobby, opening the door to many more corporations to ignore it as well. Madness.
