Re: War of the worlds...
No one would have believed, in the last years of the nineteenth century, that human affairs were being watched from the timeless worlds of space. No one could have dreamed we were being scrutinized, as someone with a microscope studies creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water. Few men even considered the possibility of life on other planets and yet, across the gulf of space, minds immeasurably superior to ours regarded this Earth with envious eyes, and slowly... and surely... they drew their plans against us. -
Re: War of the worlds...
A few weeks ago I heard a new radio version of the War of the Worlds. This time it was done by actors from Star Trek. Mr. Spock, Dr. Crusher and Data had the main roles.
Overall, it was quite good. I think they were using the original sound effects, which was neat.
I think it was originally broadcast from Los Angeles for Halloween 2004. I heard a rebroadcast on the CBC. Maybe it's out on the net somewhere.PhilipComment

Re: War of the worlds...
I'm trying not to see any trailers or previews for this movie, so it is all fresh and new when I see it, but from what I have seen it looks amazing. For my money you really can't touch Spielberg when it comes to a blockbuster summer flick like this...the man is money.Comment

Re: War of the worlds...
i saw the trailer a couple days ago in the movie theater. and the first thing it reminded me of was that other recent world disaster movie 'the day after tomorrow' or 'day after today' whatever. doesnt look that great so i wont be spending 9.50 at the movies for it. will wait for dvd. and even then i might pass on it 10 times before i get it.Comment
