I'm beginning to lose faith in humanity...

Is it just me or is there suddenly an increased spate of infant and toddler murders? I've read maybe 3 or 4 extremely disturbing ones over the last couple of months and a couple of them made me sick to my stomach. How on earth can people do such things to a child. How? What part of their brain is messed up that they don't have the empathy.

The one murder I read which troubled me the most, this guy kicked a 22 month old so hard, he "broke her liver in half" (according to the article). It disturbed me so much to read that article, I was depressed for a couple of days after it. I couldn't stop thinking about that little girl and what she went through. It's been weeks since I read it and it still upsets me when I think of that little girl. I'm not a violent person but by God I would give this guy a lesson of a lifetime.

We are seriously turning into the sickest form of so-called "intelligent" life on this planet.

i'm with you kamal. that along with all the rioting/violence all over the world.... all the third world countries that JUST got simple things like running water and electricity only to have guerillas come over and destroy their small towns to "keep them in check." it really pisses me off.

ironic you should bring this up as i've been thinking about it a lot too.
Should I fuck you at that not until the ass, inject then tremendously hard bumschen and to the termination in the eyes yes?

It's insane Garrick, every time I hold my daughter, I hold her just a little tighter when I think of those little girls. My thoughts just keep going back to them again and again, my mind is just unwilling to digest the horrific acts against these babies. That girl who's liver was hurt still makes me emotional. That's the one that really got me.

His interview is just sickening - Man Kicked 2-Year-Old Amina Agboola So Hard, Her Liver

Fuck everything about those stories. I don't read them past the headline which is usually by accident. The problem with the internet is that every time something that makes news headlines happens, you can hear about in real time via your Facebook page or some other source. That's part of why I like MS. It's insulated from a lot if the regular everyday BS one can find online. Same goes for pornography which has crept it's way into the mainstream media (music videos, online ads) that shit is damaging to the human psyche as well, but since hotels, phone carriers, internet providers, and other humongous companies make billions of $$ off it, it's good for them if it finds it's way into our culture. So along a similar vein of losing faith in humanity, I'd say humans are having a tougher time delineating what is healthy for them to consume and what is not, thanks to the internet. I don't think we were designed to know about every terrible scenario that goes down across the globe or across the country for that matter, it's just not good for the spirit. I say stay away. /rant

What's real is that right now many kids are in all kinds of pain, sex trafficking, kids getting cancer treatments and suffering from terrible disease, neglect, abuse, retarded kids abandoned. That's everyday shit in this world. Point being, a handful of terrible parents making headlines for leaving their kids in the car is also sad and really fucked up, but keep it in perspective. Fucked up shit happens, it's not new. What is new is our parenthood, our hearts have changed. We see all children differently now, we want them to be taken care of like our own are. Teach your kids to care for others, to consider others feelings, to stand up for the poor and weak. Teach your kids to trust people that are different from them, religion, color, income level. That will change the world if our generation of parents can really raise kids right. I've gotten off topic, but all that to say, I know how you feel Kamal. I see photos of my friends kid getting cancer treatments and in agony and I just want to hug my son and give thanks that he is healthy.

Wow sorry to hear about your friend's son. Illness, though no less painful, is an involuntary suffering. But to be a teen mom and have your new boyfriend stomp on your infant until green stuff oozes from her mouth and then bury her in the back yard because you want to protect your boyfriend from going to jail, I mean such depraved acts of humanity.

It maybe a coincidence that evil is live spelled backwards, but you read stuff like this and you wonder, is it really a coincidence? Is this really hell?

I don't think this is really hell, but I think it is a world of learning & sifting through experiences. When something has been brought to your attention, I think there's a reason it's been brought to the forefront, maybe so you'll be more loving towards your own kids & all children who cross your path? Since you're a parent, from now on, all kinds of children will come into your awareness through daily encounters and you can be different towards them for having read that story. If you have a daughter, maybe it will become important to you to help her learn how to choose a boyfriend?

When I read about the couple whose 22 month old died in a hot car in Georgia, and they really didn't show the remorse one would expect, but the evidence shows they even had a plan for that to happen to him, I was struck by what his mother said at his funeral that she was glad he wouldn't have to endure his first broken heart or not having anyone to sit with in the middle school lunch room and I'm like....Huh??? That is F---k-uped thinking!!! She felt the world was so broken he was too precious [& loved] to live in it and was better off dead. Okay, but he had no say in the matter and his soul wanted to be in this physical world to learn all he could learn. Was she a mother who watched horrible news on TV too much and on social media? Did she lose faith in humanity so much so she felt her own son was too good to live in this world? Is she mentally ill? (I think so.) She said her son being left in the car was her "worst fear." Did she make her own worst fear come true? People reported they were a "normal couple," but you never really know anyone or what they are capable of, that dad was sexting 6 women, one a minor, pictures and all, while his son was in the car. She chose him for a husband & father for her child?

That child's life and cause of death has swept over the nation and brought to light that nearly 45 children die each year in hot cars. Maybe that was his soul's path, to bring that awareness? I mean, how many children had to die before the world learned they required rear-facing carseats for infants? Probably way too many, but we (society) finally learned it and now even manufactures sometimes manufacture them right in. So with every bad thing that happens, maybe good comes out of it in contrast?

Maybe our souls choose our parents (deeply flawed and all) and maybe we sign up for experiences (no matter how horrible) to teach the world what we came to teach? And through our/their experiences, other people's perspectives are changed and the world is different for having learned our story? Some people believe that even babies who live only a few hours were souls that chose that experience so they could revel in every second of their short life. And maybe our souls have already chosen how we'll die because this is all really just a dream like state and when we die we awaken to real life?

[Not to blame mothers for anything, but...] I read it takes one simple aspect of motherhood to create a sociopath person.....if their mother never threatened to withdraw her love in anger. It's that simple. If you never fear losing that one important person's love, that can change everything for you. It's actually healthy for a mother to show the emotion of anger and withdraw her attention for awhile. Through feeling that fear, you learn empathy for anyone seemingly unloved. And they say brains aren't fully developed until age 20, just speaking of development, not maturity. Children don't come with how-to manuals and unless you're willing to learn how to parent, they don't teach it in schools so you'll have to learn it yourself if you're even interested in doing it well. (I'm referring to going beyond where you decide to do things differently or the same as your own parents.) Many people believe it just comes naturally, but I think it can trigger all kinds of hidden issues within the parents -parenting is so stressful and hard at times.... you can see a side of yourself you never knew you had, it's a learning process for the parents as well.

While I don't think it's healthy to teach a child they can trust any stranger no matter what, teaching them to fear everyone outside their sphere of influence isn't the answer either. I think empathy is taught by showing the child empathy. Critical adults are criticized as children. Children are pretty self eccentric, I think they learn what they experience, then spend their adulthood trying to learn something else than what they experienced as children, often. I've seen parents try to teach a child how to share their toys for instance, and it just backfires, they learn that giving means they lose and they don't want to lose anything. I guess my point is, all kinds of things can go wrong within a person's life to make them choose horrendous circumstances/outcomes even with parents of the best intentions. We're all built to make mistakes so we can evolve as a society. (Not that the most obvious, horrendous mistakes are justified, they're not.) No justification or rationalization, some people just are F--ked up!! That's the only answer.

Don't lose hope Kamal, there are good humans out in the world also!! It's all learning. I saw a documentary-type show about the relatives of mass murders and this one dad whose 14 yr old son shot 5 people in his school, his dad was a single dad who had to work all the time & moved him from all his friends to another state (I think it was from CA where he was into drama to WA where he was viewed as weird for being in drama, or something) for work when he was 12 and suddenly the son didn't fit in anywhere, was bullied and beaten at school, unbeknownst to his dad, his dad cried on TV and said "In the first 14 years of my son's life, I never once told him I loved him. But I say it now, now that he's in prison, I tell him everyday. I learned how important that is." (Not that that was the reason the child became a killer, but the dad learned things through it all.) He learned his job isn't the most important thing, providing for his son was important, but not the important thing he thought it was, he learned that showing love to his son, listening to him, being involved & saying "I love you" were the most important things, no matter how/where they lived.)

I think it's important we start teaching children how to process emotions in a healthy way. Because with the internet and all, too much time is being spent playing computer games, young brains can't distinguish between what's real and what's just a visual game. (Maybe that's what happened with that boyfriend?)

I digressed... sorry; I hope something I've written helps you feel better. To answer your question, yes, THIS is not where the "really good stuff" lives. This is where we experience good & bad so we can know the difference. Some get the crash course and others take a lifetime, some get the worse teachers & classrooms and others get the dreamy ones. (And no one knows why.) But, we're all in it together and no one gets out of it alive. Every single soul has something they're here to learn and something to teach the world & everyone who knows them.

This is what he's talking about, this crisis at our borders of children and their mothers fleeing their countries for fear of being murdered by gangs in their lawless/law corrupt areas of South America. We're talking 52,000 women and children trying to get in.

Advocates are parting ways with the administration over the border children crisis after the president ask Congress for more enforcement tools.

The number of children fleeing their country & wanting into the U.S. has risen 92% this year (thus, it's a real crisis) & they want to be considered refugees. I say let them all in, let them start their own town somewhere here (we have the room, we have the resources), and as long as they abide by our laws, they can stay. We allowed the emigrants from Europe in the early 1900s thru Ellis Island at the NY border and we were all better for it as a country. I see no difference in this crisis just because it's occurring in our southern borders, this time from Central America.
