James Lavelle @ Lost, Buenos Aires

It was the biggest shit i 've heard in my hole life!

with all the respect: JAMES, YOU SUCK!!

What s the matter with you bro?
    It was horrible.
who do you think we are?
it was a joke? you were pissed off for something?
you confused your vinyls with the a radio Top40 complilation??
you call yourself a global underground dj??

He started with a remix of kill bill soundtrack, think it was battle without honour or humanity. nice. two tracks later...in a state. everybody, clapped and shout, because he was the creator of such track.
sasha and james actually are the ones that can only put such a track.
    Then he fucked up.
He couldnt mix coffee and milk.
he actually did no mixes. -10 in beatmatching.

but...anyways...anyone can had a bad day...he could compensate with some new freshy stuff of his own, some unreleased tracks to surprise us...

    no...it was the HIT TIME!!

In a State (he put this track to times in less than 3 hours)
white stripes - seven nation army (fuck u)
u2 - where the streets have no name (original...yes, original)
freeland - smells like teen spirit (fuck u)
    underworld - rez
chem. bros - golden path (fuck u)
    i feel love
    coldplay - clocks
unkle - fear (i hate that u actually put this track)

all of this in 3 hours, maybe less...and it was one after the other...maybe in the middle he put some shitty freeland stuff.
but it was mostly one after the other.

the same people that brought lavelle where surprised, pissed off, and sorry for what has happened this thursday night.

never in my life i ve heard something so horrible like this, it was a lack of respect.

James u under estimated the audience.
Down here, we DO LOVE MUZIK.
WE DONT LIKE FEELING YOU LAUGHED ON OUR FACE.
Besides you clapped every track you played, just for making us feel even worse.

Have some descency and put 30 bucks in un envelope and send it to my home please.

    no more Lavelle for me.

Sorry if this topic didnt belong in this forum, mods plz move it.
Sorry if i offended anyone not being James Lavelle.

    bye

I don't think he was trying to insult anyone in Argentina. I don't think he beat matches well anywhere including @ Fabric. I've heard that from many people.

Heh heh - Lavelle sounds like a real winner of a DJ. I'm waiting for Lavelle, BT, Tommy Lee, and Perry Ferrell to go on their big "We're really DJs!!" tour.

Nice review... I've heard similar reviews to just how crap he is.

Nice work on picking him up GU.

That was LAST YEAR Top40 compilation :P

Seems like he couldn't even play new stuff

Excellent review Nachio. I'm sorry to hear you've had an awful night though.
You know what? People who isn't into music as we do think JL is da bomb, just because the guy plays the tracks they are used to listen, crappy overplayed (including by any local bar/small club dj) choonz. Tracks we call Pizza

well i gota disagree, alot of those songs are top class (with the exception of white stripes, smells like.... & coldplay), i rate lavelle very highly, especially when he plays under the UNKLE Soundsystem guise. i would quite happily enjoy hearing ian brown - fear & underworld rez etc... in a club, and what did about the stuff he played for the remainder of his 3 hour set?

I believe he was playing those long extended versions of each song so that tracklisting is pretty much accurate!

                  It was even worse mate.
Some freeland stuff, and other boring tracks.
I do like rez and fear, thats why i said, i hated when he put those tracks, because he made them sound cheesy.
He started with some nice breakz, but then when he didnt played a hit, he put some "kick and snare" track, very boring.

Ariel, u r right, the club was filled with that kind of vip peple who are not that much into muzik. Anyways, most of the people returned home dissapointed, even those who tried to smile, forget about everything, and dance.

                  bye!!

I guess any DJ can have a night off, but I heard elsewhere that Lavelle is not that great behind the 1's and 2's. Maybe he should stick to producing.
                    Will work for Sasha sets

Man, don't want to sound like a know-it-all smartass, but I knew it'd be a fucking embarassment, hence stayed home. Great review, btw.
