It?s not the first wireless GPS module we?ve seen for smartphones, but TomTom definitely knows how to make a device usable and cute, and their new Mobile 5 isn?t really any exception (especially in taking up a scant 3.45 x 1.7 x 0.6-inches while keeping a 10-hour battery life). The Mo5 takes advantage of TomTom?s new Plus service, which allows select Bluetooth and GPRS-enabled smartphones to get GPS data from TomTom devices GPS, and bring up the obligatory maps, POIs, spoken instructions, and even real-time traffic data, and weather. No word yet on pricing for the device or service, but we?ll keep you in the know.
