FAO People from VIENNA

My sister will be staying over there for a month for a german course, and I'm thinking going with her, for some days. Could you give me some recommendations about the city? What to see, places, shops, monuments, whatever that makes Vienna special? Don't know much about the place except that it seems very cultural and intellectual. To go out, I know from livesets, clubs like Flex, Budocentre, Tunnel,... do they still exist?

BTW Plane arrives around 1:00 AM, will there be taxis around that time? Public service is it still open?

Hey mate happy your comming over here, I would give you a personal tour but I'm going to Mexico for the summer and wont come back untill late agust.

Well you have to go to the center of the city, Sch?nbrunn (thats the national palace), Belvedere (cool paintings there of Klimt).

Make a round with the tran no.1 or 2 its the same.. you will see the parlamente, opera, cityhall, university.....

Right beseid sch?nbrunn is the zoo its the oldest zoo of the world..

Thats what I think of now.

At night go to the Flex its a great place and there always good djs there (more techno, drum 'n bass) there also other clubs chelsea, roxy, Arena (Andy c is plaing there on the 27 of July) Subzero, Buda Bar and Club Fussion, Volksgarten but the last 3 are a bit snoby.

In the first district are all the bars if just want to got take a beer and chill out.

At your stay here you have to eat a w?rstel (sausage) and ask for it like this "a eitrige mit an bugel" (sausage with bread).

I think you will have to take a taxi b/c the train stops to work at 24 (bad luck) but its going to be a bit expencive about 30 euros to get to the city.

My trip will probably be around late july; been checking for tickets, but they are pretty expensive if you fly from the Canary Islands :?
