Just out of interest, did Hernan re edit all the tracks on this mix, like he did on one of his previous mixes, or has the trend for that gone away now?

To this kind of mixes Hernan tends to edit
most of the tracks or calls on producers
        another version.

Hernan edits in his live shows, am awful lot of tracks get the Hernan treatment, which means it's a bitch when you buy a track and it doesn't sound the same.

The whole remix or edit every track on the compilation concept seems to have tailed off in the last few years. Something I am quite glad of.

I wonder what was the very first dj mix that initiated the re-editing of all or most of the tracks.

As far as I can see from my experience it was PvD's 1st Politics of Dancing back in 2001, but maybe there was something prior to that, any ideas?

If it makes a track better , I'm all for it.

It's really not necessary to make edits of tracks in advance these days as it's pretty easy to just do it on the fly with traktor now and it's become so commonplace. It's still happening, but the whole trend of labeling of tracks by djs telling you they made an edit is dying off because it's ridiculous. Whoa big fucking deal, you made an edit, look at you...everyone else does too.
