there are always a few fatalities, every year. That many people, so many variables. It's not for the faint of heart thats for sure.

On the early morning of August 2007, a 22 year old aspiring DJ named Jermaine Barley walked into a Moroccan style tent at the Comfort & Joy theme camp and decided it was there that he wanted to end his personal pain. He quietly moved one of the furniture pieces under the chandelier of the tent, cut it down from the rope that held it, and then hung himself from that rope.It is reported that his body lay hanging in the tent for more than a few hours before a passerby realized he was actually a dead person and not a prop decorating the tent. The tent’s interior decorations apparently created such a surreal atmosphere that people who went in the tent initially tho
ught the hanging man was just another prop. One burner remarked, “It looked like someone was playing a joke with a dummy.”
Jermaine’s suicide came as a shock to many of his friends and family. He was a six time Burning Man attendee who trekked up to Nevada that year with four of his close friends. No one will ever know why he chose to end his life at Burning Man. Many people from the Comfort & Joy camp later took the rope he used to the Temple of Forgiveness, where burners mourn the dead. It was ceremonially burned that Sunday night.

Erika Karen Kupfersberger was born in Sarasota, Fla., on April 15, 1978, and raised in Green Forest, Ark., the daughter of Lin Wellford and Klaus Kupfersberger. She passed away Monday, Sept. 5, after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage while attending the Burning Man festival

Adam Goldstone, a well-known East Village D.J., was getting ready to do what he loved best, spin records, when he fainted in his RV at the Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert last Tuesday and died shortly afterwards. He was 37.

She brought back the full schedule booklet thing (lots of interesting stuff in there) and on one of the pages they had scheduled an interesting "dj battle"

yah, but it's not cheap and you gotta find friends who willing to spend that much. it's like around $600?

gf spent around $1600 for 7 days with RV (4 way split), gas, food, drinks, ticket, and party favors..they also had to buy 1 50 gallon barrel for water.

I am sure that you can do it or less if you tent out, but I hear its really hard to sleep because of the heat in the morning/during the day..

I think its worth it to be honest.. its a pretty amazing experience.. if you have the opportunity, do it! That's what happened with my gf.. someone from that group canceled, so she took their spot.
