"Anders Trentemøller has always carved his niche away from the dancefloor. This confounding approach runs throughout his work, in 2006’s breakthrough album The Last Resort, the brave and experimental Into The Great Wide Yonder and more recently within Lost, a stark homage to the simplicity of traditional pop structure. Trentemøller will also release Lost Reworks on 1 September through his own In My Room label, a diverse re-imagining of the album that gives each track a new life.
With a youth soundtracked by the harsh, industrial heartbeat of simple pop songs from bands like The Cure and The Velvet Underground, this sonic evolution is perhaps most evident in the dramatic live incarnation of his various styles, exploring his dark and brooding post-punk aesthetic with a full live band. Ahead of his performance at this year’s Berlin Festival, Trentemøller diverts his gaze from the dancefloor yet again, with a delightfully dark selection of newer tracks and earlier influences alike."
