So I showed a video about Argentina to my students today since they're studying South America. What a beautiful place. Forgive my ignorance for being unaware that Buenos Aires is home to the world's widest avenue: Avenida 9 de Julio. The video mentioned that it's about 20 lanes wide. Here are some pics:

That's right. And it's pretty wild to cross if you're walking... you have to pause in the middle, with cars rushing by on both sides, and there's not much buffer for slower people. You can imagine what cab drivers start to say when there's some 80 year old granny struggling to get to the other side...
man that's so crazy....were u students interested?
Yeah, until the movie went on to talk about 'Gauchos' and showed them slaughtering a cow out on the estancia. What they showed wasn't just a quick cut-to of a cow laying dead; it was a full-on, hit the cow on the head to kill it and then proceed to show the entire process. Two words: Dis Gusting. Mind you these are 6th graders and several had to run to the bathroom to get sick.
