    Diggers website

what is up w/ Diggers website. It's got a great concept, although it could load a little faster (closing and opening new doors) but a more simple design w/ MORE info and content I think is what we all want. Hopefully its still undergoing construction. Sasha's website is decent and updated enough for my liking. THe one thing is the dates and where he's playing, the links just lead to Balance Promote which is never updated to have the coming month anymore - before it used to have dates up for months in advance whenever they were booked. I just want to know where and when Diggers is booked.

Seems he's coming around again for a quick blow thru of N. America ! Already confirmed* dates for
6/18/05 @ FUR in Washington, DC

and it seems like 6/11/05 @ Crobar in NYC

although..... i'm moving from the east coast to Denver in June and was hoping that Vinyl's website showing 6/11/05 @ Vinyl in Denver was correct, it's been on there for ages. So what's w/ the mis-matched bookings? hopefully someone knows where some trusty info. is, my entire moving process might be centered around it

Digweed's website just doesn't do it for me anymore. I mean, I used to be a HUGE fan of it, but now that he's gone electro I just can't get in to the site. Now Hernan's site, that's where it's at.

I am still a fan of diggers but his website is kinda lame. Way to much flash instead of content.

          Re: Diggers website

Ive said it before and I will say it again:

All Flash web sites and the people that "code" (and I use the term code loosely since people that cant code use flash) them should be banished to web hell forever. Now that Adobe has bought Macromedia, I hope they either kill Flash (which of course wont happen, given that there is a market out there for it) or make it smarter: add DOM compatibility, make a standarised API etc etc...

Flash blows monkey balls. Its only good for making nice animations. It was never intended for web sites.

          Off soap box.

personally, i hate the website. websites should be simple and easy to navigate. digweed's is too much design and not enough substance.

Other tour dates include June11 at Vinyl,Denver. June 14th at the Mayan
and June17 at Blue,Detroit. Shows at the Mayan were always amazing.
But the last time was really bad for JD. I might have to give him one more try and if he still does his electro-tech set, maybe i have to move on and say that those good time with JD are over.

                        Re: Diggers website

funny thing, once there was a topic about that site on bedrock board and it seemed everybody loved it there...

but the truth is - it's a perfect example of what a site should NOT be. From a psychological point of view it's a classic figure/background exchange. Instead of paying attention to the content (of which is I guess more than on the old site, it just comes unnoticed) your cognitive resources are drawn to the moving parts - animation...
when the effects on a site are short in time you can watch them a 1000 times without even noticing and then they complement the content nicely. But when each of them is over 6-10 sec long, you have to pay attention. And after the tenth time of watching the same you're very much inclined to click on that nice 'x' in the right top corner. Without waiting for the content to load...
