if oakenfold were in my town i would probably hit up his show. he usually isn't consistent but he always has at least one or two quality records in his sets. if it's less than $20, go
I'd go see him - its a bit of a lottery though, he was excellant at Gatecrasher (Heaven) last year ... (but very very poor at Pacha).
Either way you'll have a great night ... or a good old laugh.

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.
It's been said and I agree, he was back in the day but now he just makes me . I had some friends that saw him a few months back and loved him, of course they listen to top 40...and they did travel to see Tiesto as well. I actually heard a set of his not long ago and it was crap!! His recent cd's are crap too! It's really ashame!
if you've never seen him, go check him out, the only time i saw him was when he and carl cox where on the area 2 tour, 2001 i think?? and i enjoyed him, can't say what he is like now...

If it wasnt for his Tranceport cd and a few Essential mixes from 99, i wouldnt even give him props. But that cd and those EMs are pretty amazing. i still listen to Tranceport once in a while, especially during the summer.
I saw Oakie in NYC last year around Thanksgiving, and that was by far the worst set I ever heard from a major DJ. It had no structure whatsoever. Oakie started with trance, and then played a couple of Benny Benassi tracks, Nobody Listens to Techno, and As the Rush Comes. I was like, wtf?
Thank god for Eddy Bang who closed with a banging (pun intended) set!
i saw him a few months ago & I have to say he was realy boring...he is still one of the highest paid Djs and all he does is play the cheese tracks at 140 bpm.
Wanted tunes: * Greenwood Ireland & Rizzo - Peaceful journey * Black Santa - Sexxy College Amateur * Richard Sen - London after midnight PM me please, if you have any of these
People should try everything once...If you don't like him, then you'll know the answer to this question in two weeks when the topic comes back up again. I have not seen him, nor is he high on my lists of DJs I "need" to see...but I really enjoyed his mix at WMC and imagine I might enjoy a show...unless he starts playing all markus schulz and Anjuabeats labelled material...then it will be like everything else on DI.fm
Definitely not. He was over here not so long ago and I didn't go but the reviews from the "silly glow-stick children" who did go were not good.(which is strange for this cheese infested city i live in )
