    02. Grum - Autumn (Petar Dundov Remix) [Heartbeats | Promo]

Three years after his critically acclaimed debut album, Heartbeats, Grum (born Graeme Shepard) is back with his highly anticipated second LP, Human Touch. Garnering early support from DJs such as Eric Prydz, Sasha, Pete Tong, Danny Howard, Hot Since 82, Groove Armada and more, Grum’s Human Touch is a perfect spring anthem that all dance music fans can get behind. Putting a modern twist on genre favorites like disco, 80s, and 90s progressive, Shepard remains diligent throughout the album in his quest for hi-quality production and diverse sound. The end result is a magical sophomore album that showcases his growth both as an artist and as an adult. In an exclusive interview with Robotic Peacock, Grum told us about the inspiration behind his new sound,

And this is precisely what Shepard does. Human Touch takes you on a journey of emotions—from the poignant title track “Human Touch” and hi-energy synths on “The Theme,” to the happy sounds of “Autumn” and chilled out vibes on “Serotonin,” Grum’s Human Touch “ticks all the boxes” without losing any of the musicality or ear for melody that put him on the map in the first place. A bright and beautiful album that can be enjoyed by the masses, Human Touch encourages listeners to connect with their neighbours and enjoy their company, a perfect message just in time for spring.

    04. Drogo - Phobos (Dubb Disko Remix) [Cityseven Music | CSM008]

CitySeven’s autumn offering is a soundtrack for the skies of the lengthening nights, as tech whiz Drogo executes a sonic sci-fi fly-by of the Martian moons, “Phobos and Deimos”.

In the encounter with “Phobos”, Drogo’s instrument array reveals a starkly pitted beatscape, the precise periodicity of the percussion and bareness of the bass perturbed and disturbed by background noise, irregular oscillations and sudden transmission bursts.

“Deimos” boosts us into an uptempo orbit, the gliding and looping bass figure setting off chirping satellite chatter and glittering starlight harmonies.

CitySeven’s science officer Dubb Disko transits the dark side with his remix of “Phobos”. Flattened frequencies, fragmentary signals, metallic melodies, sombre vocalisations and propulsive bass feed back with ever-increasing momentum till they converge in a mighty cosmic counterpoint.

In another visit to Phobos, Several Definitions (Keith, formerly of “Radi and Keith”) brings some brass-robot retro to the narrative, with a relentless steam-powered rhythmic contraption that drives dancefloor sirens and horns in automated intonations of the harmonic series.

    Release Date: 06 October 2014

    07. Flaunt feat. Justin Jennings - Dipped In Ecstasy (Codon) (Ripperton Remix) [Anticodon Records | ACE017]

Early November will see the Anticodon imprint offer up a remix package of Flaunt ft. Justin Jennings’ ‘Dipped In Ecstacy (Codon)’, featuring remixes from Ripperton, MNDR, Vedic and Mark Picchiotti.

Joseph Vitterito aka Flaunt released the ‘Codon’ L.P on Anticodon Records earlier this year, picking up a slew of reputable support along its way. Here we see Joseph offer up the title cut from the album ‘Codon’, with its newly formed title ‘Dipped In Ecstasy’ as a remixed package following the release of the album.

Opening things up is Swiss producer and Innervisions artist Ripperton, who treats to his typically moody and hypnotic sound, reshaping ‘Dipped In Ecstasy’ into an ever-blooming eight-minute composition employing ghostly synth lines, glitching arpeggios and heavy doses of low-end. Following is MNDR’s interpretation of ‘Dipped In Ecstasy’ taking things in a more upfront direction in comparison to the preceding cut, this time bringing penetrating rhythms and expansive atmospheres to the forefront alongside crunchy distorted rhythms.

Vedic’s remix opens up the latter half of the release, veering things into stripped back territories with the focus being laid on rumbling sub bass tones and shuffling drums, while sporadic stabs and vocal chops are eased into the mix to create a smooth, unfolding groove. Mark Picchiotti’s ‘Club’ and Radio’ mixes are offered up to close the package, rounding things off on a classy tip with a jazz-infused, disco tinged workout.

    Release Date: 06 November 2014

    08. Viadrina - Prevision (Attaché Remix) [Sensefloor | SNFL016]

Viadrina is a Latin expression meaning “situated at Odra River”, thus it is a perfect name for an electronic music duo hailing from the two banks of this river.

The pair made a crushing impact in early 2011 with their debut release Better EP on Pets Recordings, and also scored a massive remix from Frankfurt heavyweights Arto Mwambe.

With such an impressive start Viadrina are highly considered to be one of the hottest new acts coming out of Poland and its vibrant scene. This has already been confirmed last year by BPitch Control, where Viadrina have released Life is a BPitch EP.

Prevision became a part of COXY1 – compilation dedicated to the one of the hottest party series in Warsaw. After the release became a success, the publisher came out with an idea of releasing an EP containing remixes on top of the single itself.

    Release Date: 20 October 2014

    09. Fairmont - Lie To Me (John Digweed & Nick Muir Remix) [My Favourite Robot Records | MFR113]

A year after Fairmont dropped his highly impressive Lie To Me EP, Canadian outfit My Favorite Robot carefully curate a selection of remixes of tracks from this standout release. As well as one from the label’s eponymous production trio, the likes of Chloe, Abstraxion, Mattheis and John Digweed and Nick Muir all step up with their own great interpretations.

French producer Chloe you will know from releasing killer cuts on MFRR, Live at Robert Johnson, Throne of Blood & BPitch Control as well as serving up hot DJ sets and mix compilations at clubs like Rex in Paris and for labels like Kill The DJ. Her remix of ‘Boa’ is a sparse but moody house affair, with deep groaning bass and an atmosphere akin to a deserted late night street. It’s a tense, broody track that will make for lots of dramatic moments on the floor.

Next up, Harold Boué aka Abstraxion is a 29 years old French producer based in London and Marseille. He has released on Marketing, Biologic and Nicolas Jaar’s label Other People. His remix of ‘Abysm’ is an invitingly hurried, heavyweight bit of electronic house funk with tons of great synth lines, interesting pads and weird sounds that make you want to move.

Dutchman Mattheis of labels like Nous’klaer then goes for a much more blissed out, slow burning and ambient affair. He layers in lots of twinkling pads and rippled synth lines to his version of ‘The Most Beautiful Eyes in the World’ and it’s a stunning, widescreen bit of work that really sweeps you off your feet.

MFR themselves tackle ‘Lie to Me’ flipping it into a brooding bit of slivery, reflective and synth heavy tech that rises and falls in beautiful ways, with gorgeous pads and feathery hi hats making for a super inviting rhythm.

Finally the Bedrock boss and Renaissance legend that is John Digweed and his studio partner Nick Muir rework the same track with a sensitive heart and conjure up a warm, smooth and serene prog track that is riddled with great synths and really works you into a state of hypnosis.

These carefully chosen remixers all manage to get fantastic results here, and as a result the whole package excels.
