    Release Date: 30 October 2014

    03. Sascha Funke - Zug Um Zug [Kompakt | KOM 316]

It's with great joy that we're announcing a new release by SASCHA FUNKE: his first Kompakt outing under his proper name in more than a decade, ZUG UM ZUG will please fans of both his solo productions and his work with Saschienne - thanks to the artist's knack for stylish and hypnotic techno that successfully combines the straightforward and the uncanny. We could welcome him back, but then again, he wasn't really away.

As far as generation gaps go, it's been quite some time since SASCHA FUNKE's last solo offering on Kompakt, 2001's DREI AUF DREI (KOMPAKT 29), but the Berlin-based producer made more than up for it with his input on Saschienne, the project he put forth together with partner in crime Julienne Dessagne. The deep, sweeping techno of their debut full-length UNKNOWN (KOMPAKT 255 CD 9 found its fair share of loyalists, also serving as an ideal primer for Sascha's latest solo output.

Title cut ZUG UM ZUG clearly tags the legacy, developing from rather humble beginnings, with just a few drone pads and a straight bass drum to show for - but that's all SASCHA FUNKE needs to establish a rather complex atmosphere. Added percussion and the introduction of sparse piano chords venture further into the eerily calm vortex at the heart of this track, making for a formidable, yet exitingly ambiguous listening experience.

The flipside's ALLES IN ALLEM opts for a more direct approach, ditching the embalming pads of the title track for some serious sub bass dwellings and those trademark guitar strums we know and love from Sascha's earliest work. Still, this cut inherits a discernible amount of bizarro synth flourishings taking things in unexpected directions, thus wrapping up Sascha's latest effort with a particularly strong entry into his already impressive discography.

    Release Date // November 10, 2014 (physical & digital)
    Format // 12''
    Catalog Nr // Kompakt 316
    EAN // 880319095412

    04. Guy J - Lonely Color [Bedrock Records | Beddigi55]

Guy J returns to Bedrock with what is probably one of the most eagerly awaited releases of the year. Having been an outstanding highlight in his sets for many months, and been the subject to endless discussion across social media, “Candyland” is set to take things to another level.

For many people around the world, Guy J’s music is uniquely joyous, uplifting, intelligent and beautiful, and there can be no doubt that he is one of the standout electronic artists today. His work is always touched with a magic and emotion that few rival, and “Candyland” is a perfect example of why his productions are quite simply - so special. Its restrained, euphoric, sensual beauty flows effortlessly into an ever-blossoming journey as it weaves its slow-build seductive spell - this is a tune that will surely become a future timeless classic?

Two further treats are “Lonely Color”, with its deeply delicious throbbing core laced with enticing, subtle melodic flourishes; along with another recent live favourite, the supreme, smile inducing “Once In A Blue Moon”. Guy J has the ability to turn up the pressure until emotion is literally pouring out of the speakers. He is an artist that everyone should, most definitely, always keep on their music radar.

    Release Date: 20 October 2014

    05. Adam Port & Stereo MC's - Place (Workparty Five EP) [Keinemusik | KM025]

Keinemusik is back with its 25th release, the fifth edition of its annual labelcrew-Sampler ‚Workparty', this time logically named ‚Workparty Five'. As alyways featuring one track by every Keinemusik producer, you'll find cuts by Rampa, David Mayer, &ME and Adam Port. And there are some special guests as well. Adam Port teamed up with the english House legends Stereo MC's to lay down the closing track - Place'.

The first and limited edition comes as double vinyl with a gatefoldcover designed by Monja Gentschow.

Five years of Keinemusik. Workparty Number Five. The twentyFIFTH KM release in total. Release subsequent to the FIVE label tour.

Before anybody could come to the conclusion, there might be higher powers or math pro's involved in this, check out this information: on the release, as it has been with all the previous Workparty joint ventures of the Keinemusik collective, you'll find four cuts.

Contributors are again: Rampa, David Mayer, &ME and Adam Port. Using the anniversary as an opportunity, the tracks have been spread over two vinyls for the first time and - as another premiere - wrapped into a gatefold cover, amazingly decorated by the artwork of Monja Gentschow.

Leading us into the ring is Rampa's 'Mod' on A. A crossing of analogue and digital methods, recommending this piece as the unmistakable floor offensive within the batch. Realizing how percussive slaps and the central synth-motif are escalating in call and response, it seems obvious that 'Mod' is not to be taken as the shortcut for 'moderate' in this case.

David Mayer's 'Smoke' on B is going for a dry and percussive approach itself, although executed in his typical signature sound - intent on the details and all about the subtlety. 'Smoke' is a genuine grower. Crackling and rolling in seductive coolness and puffing one or another ganja-cloudlet into the air.

Yet more percussive spleens to be found on C, when &ME is unrolling his 'Birdland'. Compared to the two predecessors, he is opening up to a pronounced songwriting architecture and almost tenderly implemented analogue elements like bass runs and piano chords, that are dramatizing this piece until it is consolidating to an impelling floor-affair.

For the grand finale, Adam Port is getting the legendary Stereo MCs on his side. Just for Rob Birch's vocals, 'Place' has to be seen as the most anthemic moment of this EP. But Port's sensitive instrumentation, all the deep sentiments within the beat and the effective sparing of the bigger gestures, are doing their bits to help shaping this one to be a foreseeable classic for the emotional peeks on a dancefloor.

I am awake : the show airs in DI.FM on a Monday night.

So if they have upgraded to 320 great ... but the show airs 5pm til 7pm. Unlikely you got the shows up in such short time ?

You can post the genuine DI.FM sets on a Monday, but please label them as DI.FM.
