        Did I say $3000? I meant $600 - Sony Walkman NW-ZX1 128GB MP3 Player Hi-Res:Amazon:MP3 Players & Accessories

Or $1200 - depending on options? A $1,200 Walkman? Sony Pins Its Hopes on High-Quality Sound - WSJ

          chuckc,

          Why do you need 100gb?
Are you going to listen non-stop for days?

I bought a Difrnce MP1850 2GB mp3 player for my mother 2 years ago for only 20 euro, put some 320kbps mp3's on it, plugged in a AKG K-66 headphone, and it sounded pretty good to me.
Spending more than 200 dollars for mobile listening is ridiculous.

Sometimes I listen 10 hours non stop, I would like to have more room, you can only fit so many 320kbps files on a 16gb device, and i really like to use shuffle while I jam out, the more I can hold the more I can be surprised

athough its not 100gb (only 64gb) I guess this is the best option,

4x as much room as the Sony Walkman I currently own...... although Didi did point out some issues, especially with long charging time

That's a nice player, and it plays flac too!! Would be a big plus for me.
Of course it can store a lot more mp3's but be warned my friend,

                Once you go flac,
                you never go back.

There's even a 128GB memory card for it, so it all depends on how much you want to spend on it.
According to some reviews you will not be disappointed by the sound quality.

That is ok , definitely looked at it for you. But by the time you cost the sd card in , you may as well buy this. Amazon.com : Sony Walkman NWZA17SLV 64 GB Hi-Res Digital Music Player (Silver) : Electronics

                  And it's a sony Walkman.

Look at those play times. . I'm living with the short play time, long charging and I hate it !!

I use my iphone 4S and Bose AE2 headphones and it sounds great - with the bose, you hear wonderful detail

I imagine the newer iphones are even better in terms of sound quality

Meridians new MQA file format is going to change everything I reckon.
As good as HD sound, some saying better, in a small cd sized flac file, in fact 1meg file for streaming, MP3 will be a thing of the past when it gets going.

I would wait to see what players arrive as they will need to be able to decode the MQA part from the file.
