Maybe you'll soon realize a variety of genre's pack venues, and not just prog. The very definition of progressive is moving forward, change, but i guess you're not hip to that.
How about people play what makes them happy, and you choose to pay or not pay to go hear it? You said, you hope people realize it's NOT COOL to listen to this crap and it doesn't make them UPFRONT AND COOL! What is it that makes people upfront and cool senior hipster? I know i so want to be cutting edge, and apparantly you've got the inside scoop on it.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but the whole, "it's not cool" thing is whack like crack.

Ive been a fan of Electronic Dance Music (EDM) since I was 5 years old. And as a life-long fan of the genre - Im concerned. Very concerned. There's been a general movement towards what is generally regarded as "tech house" lately and I'm pissed off. The poster boy for this is none other than Chris Fortier. Chris Fortier was one of the pioneers of the deep, dark progressive house movement - as presented in his compilation for bedrock a couple of years ago. Amazing stuff - I highly recommend you check it out if you have'nt already.
Fast forward to his latest release: Balance 007. A three disc collection of mind bending (not in a good way) clusterfuck of a compilation of what can only be described as garbaged noise. Yes, I coined a new term - "garbaged noise" - or sounds that are so horrible that they cant even be called "noise."
Thats what tech house is. All the "biggest" DJs are playing it these days. I cant understand it. When I hear those, erm, sounds, I literally start hallucinating - such is the power of these crappy sounds - going into my brain - so horrble and utter garbage that my mind can not even compute the sheer "crappiness" of them... They are, in other words - beyond garbage. Last I heard this was supposed to be music. Better yet - dance music. I can hardly think about dancing to this when all Im thinking about is not to lose my lunch all over my clothes when I hear it. I have a better term for tech house, why not call it Gitmo Music? It would be the perfect interrogation tool for breaking the most dangerous terrorists at Guantanamo Bay. 10 minutes of that utter shit is all it would take to break me, thats for sure. Bleh. I hope people realise soon that this is *not* cool and listening to this crap does not make them Upfront and cool. Makes them look stupid, thats all.
