i've been getting into live visuals lately and have been wondering what people really dig. i know what i like, but some input on what other people like, dislike, etc. would be great!

Actually the best visuals I saw were at the evil nine show at the M# sunset sessions at this years WMC
Purely random and off the wall video clips cut to shreds moving forwards and backwards
things so weird you just couldn't help but love it-It actually motivated us to add an LCD projector to our list of things HOlosound needs gear wiseHolosound@Vertigo in Costa Rica Streaming Video and Audio http://livestream.com/urbanettv/vide...8-c5911280cf91

Re: visuals: what do you like to see?
Sander Kleinenbergs display was pretty cool.. lots of random words, mixed in with lyrics from the songs, and womens faces fading in and out.
also, the blood on the turntables (Hallucinations friday the 13th shows) have some whacked out stuff. One of them I saw, they had all these bits of Friday the 13th movies, looped, and the vocals would come out during breakdowns in the songs, when jason was killing people, say a swinging axe would loop to the beat. THAT was intense. They also used the part when Jasons mum is talking to the girl, explaining how he died...Comment

Some wild ass abstract 3d.
I've been thinking about this a lot lately as its something I've been wanting to do since I started working in motion. Do you guys just play a dvd and let it ride or what? How long do they typically play for? Anyone have links to people that specialize in said visuals?Comment

In regards to sets well the unfortunate norm is ALL night open to close.
I am also into visuals and it can be tirying. But the good/bad thing is people don't pay attention that much but you'll often get people try to chat you up while you're working your thing and annoying you to bits.Comment

So you vj live then huh? Shit I didn't know that.
Maybe some of you guys that are experienced with this can chat sometime on msn or aim or the like. I'm really interested in getting into this. I'm pretty well versed in animation, video, and motion graphics. So this could be something fun to get into.Comment

I still remember a VJ starting a series of 80's porn scenes while I was spinning, and co?ncidentally he started it off right at the moment I threw down 'Autoporno' from Fingerfest Inc...talk about timingBlowkick visual & graphic design - No Civilization. Now With Broadband.
