Sad to see such a consistent and classy individuals career end without ever tasting the ultimate prize. I am in no way an Indiana Pacer fan, but I've been a Reggie Miller fan for no less than a decade. First ballot Hall of Famer and one of the best shooters the game has ever seen, but damn...I wish he could have just won one.
Yes, that was an extremely classy thing to do. Props to Larry Brown for realizing there was something going on that was bigger than shooting a couple of free throws.
definately a first ballot hall of famer... I hate the Pacers but even with that hate I still have to respect Reggie Miller and what he can do... If it wasnt for him last night it wouldnt of even been a game... Reggie is the clutchest shooter of all time... the best part about his game has always been off the ball and just finding ways to get open shots with defenders harassing him... everytime there was a clutch shot needed for the Pacers the whole crowd, and anyone watching knew where the ball was going everytime and REggiw still manages to find a shot and on most occasions score... best clutch performer ever... as a true fan of the game you have to RESPECT him for never selling out for more $ or to have a better opprotunity to win an NBA Championship with another franchise... an obvious first team ballot as he is the best clutch shooter to play the game... cheers
It was one of those deals where everyone knew who was going to take the shot...everyone. So he would take the inbounds, spot up and drain the 3 anyway...with 3 people all over his ass. Look up clutch in the dictionary...you guessed it. :P
And his mugging of Jordan in the '98 playoffs was more than classic.
He will probably be a first ballot hall of famer, but i'd have a hard time giving it to him. He didn't invent the art of shooting the three, Dale Ellis did. He belongs in the hall of fame, just not first ballot.
I can think of several players that play the 2 spot like he does that you can't even mention reggie's name in the same sentence as theirs.
First ballot camp imo playing the 2 spot the same time Reggie is:
Jordan (duh)
Iverson (double duh)
Drexler
Allen
Mitch Richmond (equal shooter, but way better defender.)
Kobe Bryant (hate this guy, but his talent is undeniable)
^I don't put reggie in the same boat as those cats. Guy deserves mad respect, quality shooter, carried that team for 18 years on his back. But he's got similar career stats as Jeff Hornicek, and Jeff aint no first balloter.
Yeah...definitely gonna have to disagree with you on that one...

Career leader in both categories. Anytime you are the career leader in any stat (that matters, not turnovers :? ) you deserve first ballot entry. He did not invent the 3 point shot, but he sure as hell perfected it. And sunk more than anyone else, ever. And how many of them were game winners??
