    Release Notes:

    01. Human Life & Anabel Englund - El Diablo (Mia Dora Dub) [Exploited Records ‎| EXPDIGITAL88RMX]

If you haven’t heard ANABEL ENGLUND this year, you just haven’t been to a club—period. Everyone knows her hits with Hot Natured (“Reverse Skydiving,” “Electricity,” “Mercury Rising”), but few know where she got started. That honor goes to none other than her friend Matthew Wasley AKA HUMAN LIFE. After being born and raised in Los Angeles, it wasn’t until her late teens, when she met Wasley, that Englund discovered Deep House.

Their first collaboration, 2013’s “Falling” was the beginning of their creative output together. Now, Win Music has the pleasure of bringing their latest collaboration to the world. “EL DIABLO” ups the ante of their work together, and also the genre of Deep House (or whatever it is that we’re calling “Deep House” these days) itself. The song features not only a producer and vocalist collaboration, but a duet.

Seriously, name some other Deep House duets–bet you can’t think of one. “El Diablo” is a major step forward for both artists and the genre, with production hinting at Chamber Music, lyrics influenced by Jim Morrison and harmonies straight out of Beach Boys records.

After Human Life & Anabel Englund debuted the song live at this years’ Coachella Festival, and Pete Tong premiered the first remix on BBC Radio 1, the world gets their hands on it November 24th in all stores. Soon after, expect a stacked remix package accumulated with the help of Win’s label partners Exploited and one love.

    Original: Released Nov 24th
via Win Music (ROTW), Exploited (DE) & Onelove (AUS/NZ)
    Exploited Remixes: Adana Twins/Joyce Muniz/Mia Dora/Hotlane
    Released Dec 15th via Beatport
    More Remixes December, January

    02. The Midnight Perverts & Troncoso ft. Ely La Inmunda - After Dinner Mint (Noėl Jackson Remix) [Superfreq | SFD025]

Next up on Superfreq is the dynamic duo of Midnight Perverts & Troncoso with two brilliant originals that come with remixes by label boss Mr C, David Scuba and Noėl Jackson.

Midnight Perverts aka Romeo Ugalde, Neil label boss and Bar Americas resident has been going strong under various aliases for a decade now, and his originals and remixes have been supported by the likes of tastemakers including Art Department and Seth Troxler, Silicone Soul and Maceo Plex. Here he teams up with Argentinian born but Miami based Troncoso, who is still only in his early twenties but has amassed a fine discography on labels like Get Physical, Nervous and many others.

He runs his own labels Prisoner of Love and What Makes a Lover and is a regular in the best clubs around the world. “What I wanted to do with these tunes was to create something a bit different from my usual sound. ‘Quiero Olerte’ is very dark and ‘After Dinner Mint’ has this technoish funky style,” he says, and he’s not wrong.

Up first is ‘After Dinner Mint’ a deep and squelchy number, with mechanical drum grooves, funky little clipped riffs and a hiccuping percussive line. Sparkling melodies add colour and dazzle and there is a certain mischievous magic to the track with its alien lines and building sense of tension that will keep floors locked.

The first remix comes from boss man Mr C himself, He flips ‘After Dinner Mint’ into a tripped out, metallic track with coarse hits, psychedelic synths and a fat retro bassline that bobbles away invitingly underneath it all.

The ever impressive label stalwart and firing DJ that is David Scuba then flips the track into a shuffling, texturally rich affair with ditty, appreciated synths and undulating grooves. Some shooting laser synths add that all important sci-fi aspect and the result is a typically standout cut.

The final remix comes from Noėl Jackson who goes all deep and weird on his version, where spangly lines spray about next to woodpecker like stabs, whispered vocals and mischievous nocturnal spirits. It's infectious, tense and unique and rounds out a great package.

To close the package we have, ‘Quiero olerte entre las Piernas ft Ely la Inmundal’, it’s a tropical and humid track with nicely defined drums that tumble through space with haunting synth lines adding a mysterious air. Dark but inviting, it’s the sort of spooky and weirdly spiritual track that fits perfectly on this label.

Once again this Superfreq dream team have come up with the goods through another standout EP.

    [Ibiza Voice]

Midnight Perverts & Troncoso provide the latest release out on Mr C's Superfreq label which in the past has seen some astounding release by the likes of Bea Tricks, Joint Custody, Jordan Lieb plus a flurry of a whole load of talent both old and new. Their 25th release 'After Dinner Mint' is iconic to the labels sound and features remixes from Mr C, David Scuba & Noel Jackson.

The original begins with an almighty chug right from the onset. The bassline is simple and syncopated while the pulsating drum pattern variates ever so slightly throughout the track. It's dark throughout and emphasised on this by the caliginous vocal that hits sporadically throughout the piece. The obfuscous pads complete this shady affair perfectly and forces you to go for the volume in order to hit it up a notch.

Mr C's delivery is a lot more electro-based than the original. The drum sequence is sophisticated and proud right from the beginning and continues in this demeanour throughout. The track collides pads and bass in a svelte manner and is certainly something that is absolutely impossible not to admire and enjoy. Midway the track darkens with the bridge then carries on with it's original proceedings. This is nothing short of brilliance.

David Scuba provides a more techy element for the release. The drums in this are certainly enjoyable not only for the kit used, but how they have been programmed. The synth bass stands out in pure class and sits perfectly within the whole sonic arrangement. The trance pads on the bridge are not particularly impressive if I'm honest however the rest of the track certainly makes up for this.

Noel Jackson joins the crew with a backroom delight that bridges the gap between tech-house and dark house techno, providing the release with a great twist. The pingy stabs lose you within the track while making it difficult to decide which of these versions you like the most.

The release finishes with 'Quiero Olerte Entre Las Piernas' and is a little perplexing in the sense that yes, it's a great track and I'm certainly not taking that away from it. However the release didn't really need it as it is certainly different to the rest of the tracks. Saying that, it is a quality track and in some ways, my favourite on the release. However it didn't really need it. Think of it as a bonus I guess - one that is absolutely worth it's weight in gold.

    03. Kindimmer - Tremor (For Jacks, Pt.4 - 15 Years Of Poker Flat) [Poker Flat Records | PFR156]

Poker Flat Recordings has been dealing out underground house music with a unique twist since 1999; from the defining debut "Loverboy" through the Bugnology series, acclaimed albums and worldwide club hits, Steve Bug's essential imprint has unearthed new talent, developed rising stars and welcomed veterans into the fold. Steve Bug's reputation as an exceptionally gifted DJ, producer and music connoisseur is about to carry the beloved imprint to its 15th anniversary, which will be celebrated with its finest collection of raw talent yet, starting with this first instalment of the anniversary series called Four Jacks.

Following the winning format of the series thus far, Part 4 boasts two slamming new remixes of classics from the vault, and two brand spanking new tracks from Poker Flat's stellar roster. Trentemųller's electro touchstone "Always Something Better" now draws the attention of DJ Tennis and Mind Against, who keep it slow and suspenseful with an intricate and modern deep house makeover.

Chardronnet vs. Afrilounge's "Shake It" was a defining moment of minimal tech in 2005, and Ejeca modernises it with a full-bodied treatment of peaktime melodic techno. The finale offering of new tracks created to mark the anniversary come from John Tejada & Justin Maxwell and Kindimmer; the former reach for vintage boompty house and noodly acid on "All We Know", while the latter opts for delicately minimalist deep house construction for the chiming, gleaming "Tremor"

With all four of Poker Flat's Four Jacks now been revealed, the label has played its winning hand once again, demonstrating just how they have stayed at the top of their game at 15 years deep.

    Release Date: 01 December 2014

    04. Martin Eyerer & Markus Homm - The Duke [Saved Records | SAVED114]

"East Cost / West Coast" is deep, rolling techno with plenty of drive. Surging bass drives the track along with cylindrical synths firing with mechanical repetition. Lulled into a hypnotic groove which is exaggerated by distorted vocal snippets, suddenly the track explodes with more weight and cranking mechanics to create a jacked up soundscape. Owing it's dub-like atmospheres and ghetto-funk attitude to each cost in equal measure, the tune encapsulates the sentiment of the USA's underground. "The Duke" is more stripped back, relying on punchy beats, a driving bass bassline, skipping cymbals and squelching synths. The atmosphere is deep, dubby and intense, initially letting the listener settle into its pace before indulging in swirling FX work to create a trippy but heads down attitude.

    Release Date: 08 December 2014

    05. Laura Jones - Eskipade (Och Remix) [Visionquest | VQ046]

Laura Jones’ second EP for Visionquest ‘Eskipade’ takes a more serious turn for the respected female producer. Featuring two hypnotic, rattling acid tracks together with a remix from Sweden-based techno producer OCH, this is the sound of her stepping into new shoes.

After a summer living in Ibiza playing regularly for DC10, Laura Jones makes her return to London on one of her home labels, Visionquest. With over twelve years of piano training and three in cello and clarinet, Laura understands the dynamics of composition away from the bedroom computer with releases on key labels such as Leftroom, Visionquest and Crosstown Rebels. As a remixer she“s earning a reputation for breathing new life into house classics like Romanthony“s “Let Me Show You Love, Hollis P Monroe“s “I“m Lonely“ and Todd Terry“s Bounce to the Beat.“ In between the studio and the DJ booth her unique stage presence has made her one of dance music“s most unforgettable discoveries.

OCH has been an active figure within the UK music scene since the 1990s. Globally he is recognised for his unique yet jackin’ signature sound which has appeared on premium house and techno imprints such as Trelik, PAL SL, All Inn, Bass Culture, Sect and Systematic.

    Release Date: 15 December 2014

    06. Pig & Dan - The Filth (Alberto Ruiz Remix) [Terminal M Records | TERM115]

With their brilliant album on Bedrock, the releases on their own label Elevate plus their recent collaboration with Terminal M boss Monika Kruse, we are more than happy to welcome them back on our imprint. With these 3 tracks the legendary duo shows once more why they are so hot in the international techno circuit as they just know how to rock the dance-floor, be it as djs or as producers.

    Release Date: 08 December 2014

    07. Matador - It's A Rollover (Original Mix) [M_nus | MINUSMIN33]

They say the best things come to those who wait. It’s been a year since Matador delivered the incredible Zoles EP but fever pitch anticipation from the techno community is rewarded not once but twice as Ireland’s global powerhouse delivers a slew of new productions that spills over into two packed EPs for Minus!

The first wrapping up a stellar 2014 for the label and the second coming out as Spring starts to shine in March 2015. It’s impossible to pick just one highlight from this 11 track odyssey of trademark Matador mind music. Just like a Matador live set, get locked into the first beat and follow the path right to the end. Enjoy the peaks and swirls and get lost within the beats.

Road tested worldwide by the man himself and by Minus godfather Richie Hawtin, this package leaves nothing to chance on the dance-floor. As if this double EP could'’t be better news for patient techno fans, word has it that there may well be more to follow from the Irish underground hero. Watch this space!

    Release Date: 08 December 2014

    08. Maceo Plex - Conjure Floyd [Drumcode | DC136]

Taken from the last and final EP in the Conjure series. "Conjure Infinity".

Maceo Plex completes his four to the floor step, conjuring act with ‘Conjure Infinity’ – a two track EP that tars and feathers dark techno, lashes it to the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and makes them pull in each compass direction with all their might. With ‘Conjure Floyd’ Maceo Plex demonstrates why he is fast becoming the Dark Lord of funk fuelled, room filling, techno soundscapes. Whilst ‘Conjure Dreams’ is a cardio-steppers delight with a lighters aloft, soaring synth melody that takes on a deeper meaning when the metallic wobble-board of a bass-line and shimmering keys start to mess with your head.

    Out Dec 15th on Drumcode.

    09. Shaded - Gender Bender (Carlo Lio Remix) [SCI+TEC Digital Audio | TEC119]

This summer SHADED swapped the Sunshine State for the sun-drenched city of Barcelona and a European excursion that proved a huge and inspiring success.

In a twist, SHADED's new single sees him combining some of his home town freakiness with the hedonistic, passionate and open-minded vibes of his adopted seasonal home.

Gender Bender, as its names suggests, is a non-conforming tech-house cut, an exotic number, with sultry vocals, rubbery groove and electro stabs that rock with a 'no-fucks-given' attitude.

A big single deserves a big remix package and SCI+TEC mainstay Carlo Lio unleashes with a remix that sees him going harder and heavier than we've seen him for some time. Bringing things back down is Ireland's Matador, who turns in a chugging, groove-heavy rework. A perfect brace.

Rounding out the package is SHADED's Funk Tone. Like an electronic popping candy, this cheeky techno tool is a mouth watering treat and a great addition to the release.

    Release Date: 13 November 2014

      Cool track

Really enjoyed Steve Bug's mix. He was excellent on the Space Terrace the other year. We'd gone after Sasha's nearly Ushuaia Towers thing, but nearly left after the trendy tINI played an awful dull set. But Steve Bug came on after and played a blinder - proper DJ, doesn't just run a great label but years of working a room.

Don't suppose you've got the June 2009 Steve Bug Guest Mix handy Sbando ?

          Highlights, of course.

Yes, I do have Bug's 2009 EM, if you remember it was well-received at GU (10-pager potential). It influenced my tastes heavily and for a while I considered Steve as my favourite DJ. I also remember myself praising a little known kid producer named Maya Jane (who contributes the third track, "Riots").

Haha What you asking him for? Is he the keeper of all things Digweed? I suppose he is. Baahaha

Its well known that Muir mixes them all in Ableton for him weekly. How do you think with his schedule he'd have the time to do an hours mix every week?

                            Simon? LOL
