      Re: 21 May 2005: 27 hours [Cardiff and Sasha@Fabric]

Sasha was awesome. The first 3 hours were the best, too much techno at the end. I liked the ableton sound for a bit but then though the programming turned predictable quite quickly, a break down every 2 records, I found the tracks also too short . The wall of sound that sasha produced really showed off the sound rig in the main room. The sound is so crisp and the bass so clear the best sound in the UK maybe the world?

The only thing that really spolit it for me were the beer boys, some really elbows around and a lot of complete wankers. Also between 1am and 3.30 you could not move on the dacefloor not even to get your arms above your head. Sardines had more room!

Only just got back home from london, 12 hours after leaving the club, seen that stars wars this afternoon, very good it was too.

                Oh. My. God.

Easily one of the best sets I've ever heard from Sasha. God knows what's going on with that Ableton/Maven set-up (samples, looping, delays) but he's sounding as good as he has in years.

Stayed until about 6.30am, when as Morgan said it got quite techno, having danced from the second he came on (early for once!). Just sublime stuff ? melodic, quite a few vocals, amazing basslines and, of course, that sound system.

The only problem with Fabric is that when Sasha or Digweed is on, EVERYONE piles into the main room meaning you can't even move. They really should put another big name on in the second room ? I know it's not Fabric policy but being crushed isn't much fun.

Highlight? Holden & Thompson's Come to Me. I'm still smiling.

And for those who stood and watched Sasha playing on his laptop for over three hours without even moving your feet ? I'll video it for you next time and only charge you a tenner. Save yourself a fiver and make some room for those who want to dance!

This was an amazing night. I left early though, about 5:30. I had to be at Heathrow about 8.00.

Sasha was better now then earlier this year at Fabric.

Yep great and memorable night. Agree felt like a sardine and I cant remember anywhere being quite as busy. A good set, but feel it lacked fluency due the live looping and use of samples on the Ableton. The Matthew Jonson track on Kompakt worked well.

Totally agree the sound and lighting in room 1 are different class. The balcony (we were fortunately able seek refuge for brief elbow room) however, the was muffled by comparison. Had a great night still suffering. Roll on Liverpool

My 1st time at Fabric .. interesting venue - the place is a little too packed for my liking (just a stream of constant people pushing past you and standing on your toes - plus too many tourists). Thought things took a fair bit of time to settle down.

Spent my time behind the DJ booth earlier on so I had some space (definately at a premium). Things took off when Sasha played those two border community tracks - one of the highlights of the night.

Finally managed to get on the dancefloor 5.00 til 6.30 when Sasha played his best stuff (Schiller - Ruhe was definately THE highlight) plus his fusing the likes of Magentic North and Talk Amongst Yourself etc. over the tracks he played was genius. He played some amazing tracks around this period.

I left at 6.30 (legs wouldn't hold up any more) - what did he play after that ?

All in all a pretty good night ... can't wait to see him at Masque and Air - its easier to find a decent spec in those places without feeling like the M25.

This release was mastered direct from vinyl at the request of the DJ and as such features natural sound characteristics of this medium such as record surface noise.

                              Had a wicked time!

Getting a ticket was a bonus, the queue outside was just massive.
Got there at 12:00 got a drink and hit the dance floor of room 1.

Don't like warm-up stuff, but hats off to Mr Mojo, he was wicked, (piano break downs and all).

Sasha started with some mad count-down intro (think its the same one as is on his essential mix).
It was too packed out for some of my friends and they left to go to room 2, and didn't return until 5:30.(Terry Francis was wicked they reckon, and there was room to dance, at one point hanging from a pole somewhere in room 2?.
The rest of us stayed with Sasha, i remember he played Schiller -Ruhe and Guy Gerber - Stoppage Time.
Shame the place was so packed as i like to dance around and have a bit of room but thats Sasha of ya, i think i like hearing him at a festival, as there is always more room.

Great night, got wasted, and THAT sound system is amazing.
We all stayed til 6:45 a new record!

(didn't spot anyone in a MN t-shirt, but then again i was a little fucked)
                              Maybe next time.
