While FB buys whatsap , Google starts their project loon... what does apple do ??? they buy beats by dre. awesome! Seriously, Tim cook has made a lot of poor decisions. None of them go along with what Steve jobs had envisioned.
Back to the headphones, they sound like crap some of their models do have a decent isolation though.Leave a comment:

Beat By Dre: The Exclusive Inside Story of How Monster Lost the World
Beats are popular because of great marketing getting their product in the hands of stars...that's about the only thing notable about em.Leave a comment:

Meanwhile, aided by having the Beats by Dre logo on the side of their headphones, Monster – the Brisbane, CA-based producer of audio and video cabling products known until this week as Monster Cable Products – took 53% of a US headphone market valued at the time by the NPD group at over $1 billion. Since that calculation, the market has grown 79% to $2 billion at the end of 2011, also according to NPD. Getting over 50% share in a largely commodified market is impressive work, and I believe has not been done in headphones since Koss, who had the first-mover advantage in a far smaller market.
Interestingly apparently Apple bought them because of the streaming , because America has this ridiculous system of a single judge being able to set streaming payment rates. Beats has this set at stupidly small amounts, which will come in very handy when Apple start to do streaming.Leave a comment:

Re: Beats By Dre
In a lawsuit filed in San Mateo County Superior Court Tuesday, Monster CEO Noel Lee said that his company was betrayed by Beats Electronics, the company behind "Beats By Dr. Dre" headphones, when the two companies parted ways in 2012, and that Beats has gone on to try to erase Monster's contribution to its headphones.

I think I would keep them and give them as a gift to someone that would really make their day happy… that someone would be a guido or someone from the jersey shore.Leave a comment:

Re: Beats By Dre
^^^Yeah, I would probably agree with that.
They are probably the most faked headphones in the world. I remember coming out of the train station in Paris and there were all these young guys with handfuls of them
The odd review I have read hasn't been that good , particularly for the price.
I wouldn't have accepted them.Leave a comment:
