Yeah, I don't really see how this would prove that there is no God either. "In the beginning" could just mean the formation of Earth and not other planets as well.

My point is: why would there be a mammal on another planet? The conditions on this world i.e. distance from the Sun, air chemistry, water chemistry, weather patterns, are condusive to our kind of life...carbon based life. On another planet, or moon, or whatever, that has an atmosphere of pure ammonia, an ocean of liquid nitrogen and ground made up of calcium phosphate could not support carbon based life. I think that drives alot of people to assume it could not sustain life, in general. That's what I'm most amped on...not so much that there is life, because I'm fairly positive that there is, but what the hell is it going to look like. :WTF:

if aliens ever visit this planet, chances are it wont be pretty.

the thought is that if theres a being with the technology to get to us and we cant get to them, theres a huge chance they will herd us like cattle or worse.

we would do that on anther planet..we do it on THIS planet.

i recently saw a movie trailer about aliens watchin us and then attacking or something. not sure what the movies about in the end but when i saw it it made me think about the teacher that impressed upon me that idea.

i always hoped id live to see the day we encounter extra-terrestrial beings.....not anymore. im fine without it.

could well be true, if they are advanced enough to wipe out disease and aging...... what would they do if they wanted to live forever..... this "life" is a nice way to live 70 odd years only to wake up again when "GAME OVER" plays and dive into the next one

Ever seen "Mission to Mars?" That's my idea of what happened. Far fetched? Yes. But hey, we're dealing with time and space here...nothing that belongs on this world applies out there.

Voyager I and its sister ship, Voyager II, were launched in 1977 on a mission to explore the solar system. Voyager I passed Jupiter in March 1979 and Saturn in November 1980. In 1998, it became the most distant man-made object from Earth. Voyager II, which observed Uranus and Neptune, is 6.5 billion miles from the sun, heading in the opposite direction of Voyager I and at a slightly slower speed.

that just blows my mind. the thing passed a distant planet the same year i was born & is still becoming ever more distant 25 years later.
