Whatever dude, you really don't have to try so hard to be "different" and "opinionated." We get it, you think it's boring...funny how almost NO ONE agrees with you.
I?ve just finished listening to it for the 1st time.
I fucking love it. I don?t understand all these people saying it?s boring, a snoozefest, etc, the tracks are crap, etc.
I wonder if we?ll something like the turn in reactions to his latest EM... Loads of people saying "it sucks!", then a few hours later "ok, listened to it again, it?s not so bad, it?s just that it?s different", and finally "OMFG, I?ve listened to it 4 times in a row and it?s awesome!"
Sasha is outgrowing his own boundaries and the labels he?s always had around him. He?s just a great DJ and artist, period, with impeccable taste in music, and I think it?s commendable that a DJ of his stature chooses to progress, move forward, and not play safe all the time.
This guy could keep putting out reruns of GU013 and life would be smooth sailing for him, I?m sure. Instead, he takes risks.
Now I just wish someone had recorded his set here in Lisbon last week...that would shut some mouths...
absolutely agree with you man... I can see why people would say that it is boring but it seems to me that Sasha is going somewhere else with this, in an entirely new direction and it works to my ears, I wouldnt even think that this set is boring, it is definately different and nothing like i have heard before but that is what makes it so damn good to me, this cd brings you on a wicked journey with some great tracks...
Sasha is ahead and will continue to stay ahead of the rest because he isnt afraid to experiment with his talent...
side note: PAGE 6 of this thread is classic...
cheers all

I do not normally do this, but for this I will give it a hoot-toot-toot.

3 ... 2 ... 1 ... we may start.
Fun Dac Ion is a walk through the park with your wife/grand kids/boyfriend/friend/dog, but yet you as the sole individual are wearing the headphones. They think you are there with them, enjoying the cool park breeze, but the truth is you are not.
Sasha welcomes you with his own cool breeze. An intro that is not new, but done well, he sets up a very digital movie feel and it is fun. The music starts off with Adam Johnson - Four Squares. Smooth yet not very filling, but the following track, Swayzak- Another Way does give the previous track what is was missing, some pep. The mood has been set and the journey picks up from here. Beanfield - Tides feat Bajka comes around the corner, my ears try to adjust to the strange vocals, but I am not truly pleased. The mellow beats continue and I find my two left feet slowly pattering. Not because of Beanfield, but by another artist Kosmas Epsilon and his track Innocent Thoughts. A nice beauty, perhaps as justifiable as driving down the street and glancing at one beautiful human, but that is it. Before you know it, the 2 minute track is over and your left thinking, I wish I could of drove a little bit slower. Funk Devoid comes slamming into your speakers and boy it that a nice track, but the breath ends with no exhale, we are being pushed forward to another new beat and tune. This time it is another short except of Closer Musik - One Two Three, that comes to a very horrendous crash into Phonique - 99 And A Hal, which really should be reduced to a 10 second track, but yet it drags over 2 minutes, closer to 3. No love for this track.
Now we are getting hot, actually just hotter. Holden And Thompson - Come To Me and i really have to note this is the Last Version Mix is a stain in Fundacion, a stain that just seems you can not remove. Perhaps because of the Phonique track, but I can not get any feel from this song. The only thing it does really well is set you up for the following track, which is the same track but a very good remix, we will call it the Club Mix This mix is just perfect, delicate, emotional and produced perfectly. Probably the most enjoyable track on the cd. A nice refreshing listen, and somes times even a repeat or three. Now we have some Sasha magic. M.A.N.D.Y. - Jah , the 11th track on the cd is just getting better and better. It is the preheat on the oven and boy does it warm you up for Playgroup - Behind The Wheel A Depeche Mode wanna be, that makes DM fans cringe to the butchered vocals, but besides being a hardcore DM fan, it does work and it does work well.
STOP. AND I MEAN REALLY STOP.
We now have what I like to call a bump-set-spike. And boy do we have one hell of a spike into the listeners ears. Freeform Five - Electromagnetic (Tiefschwarz_Dub) is a gold seed, a seed that only grows into a gold plant. Sasha sets this track up perfectly. It's funky style and synth blares are just too much fun, and Sasha does take advantage of them. And he should. A really beautiful track and a fun listen that can be played over and over. We run into another fellow that was with us before Closer Musik - One Two Three, but Sasha has extended the play time to over a minute. Which is fine with me, because I cream the next track. Andre Kraml - Safari - (James Holden Remix), is a very nice dancing track. Pretty much all you have to do is sway from left to right and this track will do the rest for you. I really also enjoy this verison. Holden does a super job, and now we have another nice listen to a track with some play time. Good call Sasha. Freaky Chakra - Blacklight Fantasy, is a space filler to me, or at least it feels that way. I really do not have much to say about the track except that is welcomed into the cd, and it just plays, but that is all.
The next track Goldfrapp - Strict Machine (We Are Glitter Mix) came as a surprise to me. I thought I hit the radio switch and was listening to some UK underground rock, and that is where it should stay. Not a good choice, but Sasha can make anything work and he does.
We are finally left with track 18, M83 - Dont Save Us From The Flames, which really is not a bad track, but not an epic track either. It takes you to the end for a conclusive end of Fundacion. It does satisfy me and my very critical ears.
Overall, this is a buy, not a must buy. I truly like the diverse track selection and it is nice to see that Sasha has very good control with his Ableton setup. There are two tracks that I really like to listen to on this set, the rest either come to above average or below. Which is somewhat disappointing to me. I feel this production was a little rushed, and I hope the final release has some ends cleaned up. For a promo it is not bad, actually this will find it's place in my cd player for some time, actually it all ready has. I look to supporting my "god" in music and enjoying a few many more listens to a very solid cd, but a not a gold one.

A cop out because now that eveyone's heard it and formed their own opinion (which you refuse to accept) your "it's boring" comment means absolutely nothing??
Remember when you were a kid there were so many things that were SOOO BOOORING but the grown-ups loved doing them... and then you look back and realise you didn't know why one movie was funny cause the humor wasn't slapstick/handed roght to you.... you had to think about the "irony" or "contradiction" that made what happened funny, and then it's a fuckin hoot!
After my first night at twilo for sasha and digweed, i ran out and bought North, and was madly dissapointed... it wasnt HARD, and Twisted/edgy... I didnt listen to it for a year.... when I did a year later I was stumped as to how I could possibly not like that Disc.... Right? I was ready for that world after a year's time... I listened to things in a very different way, and heard them as though I were hearing a foriegn language as plain english.....
So if it's boring, i put all my $$$ on the need of some listners to have their music force fed to them like a court order'd shiavo feeding tube shoved down your throat with the persistence of the religious right who's decided they know whats best for others...
Or simply.... sex used to seem yucky, but now it doesn't, right? And it's pretty clear and simple what good sex is, right? there's quality and theres shite... Unfortunately, there are still a shitload of folks out there who would swear on their mother's grave that they are good kissers... and as it turns out... OOps.... We can wait for a little bit before that tongue is all the way down our throat... we have a super concentrated number of pleasure sensing nerves in our lips for that very reason...
Date Rape or Seduction...?
The red pill, or the blue roofie?
this shit is way too easy
How fucking funny is that? I saw asdf's post the second I finished writing and posted mine.....Well I'll be a monkey's crackwhore i tell ya...
I'll add my two brain cells... having been at every NYC fundacion start to finish (as far as sasha play time goes) I must say that the CD is a very good representation and tour of the array and diversity of styles and sounds that the party/the ravishing Mr Coe with his maven, apple, & ableton encompassed. I'm very happy about this, as I have my very own souvenier that like a familiar smell.... takes me back in a way that just memory alone (and lets face it kids, are we gonna rely on that?) could not re-create with such resolution and bit-rate.

that's cool
the first time i heard sasha live was 1993 in orlando. i had a similar experience.
so what if i don't like his new cd. why do you even care?
start a thread of your own
maybe something like "i had a dream that i was giving sasha head at fundacion!"
You're the kind of person that can't not respond to something, huh?? It's cool, we'll keep going as long as you want. Why do we care if you don't like it??? We don't...I just think it's funny how you keep this shit going even after the inital attention you brought to yourself of "Hambintton (or whatever your name is) heard it and thinks it's boring" has worn off.
