STILL pumpin out great set after great set...never cheesed out, never sold out, never lost his touch..
Simply does not get any better than Hernan
Why does it matter what the crowds are doing if you're not there? So what if they're blowing $70.00 for tickets to see Deep Dish and they're staring into their phones - it's their own money they're wasting, not yours.
Even if you were there, would it matter?
Score so far: Owned ZoverTard 8 times - twice in one week! Twice more in same weekend.
More than six months later - he's still pissed LOL - check the last visitor - guess who the last visitor is on my profile page.

It matters because they are doing it everywhere, they have no compunction whatsoever about pushing you aside , treading on you etc. as long as they get their shitty photo's videos and really really crap recordings. As trick says , you can't close your eyes, you have to be vigilant. Particularly events like this it seem to be about being seen to be there rather than actually being there for the music. I'm just glad I am not there. It's the absolute opposite of everything I love about this music.
One if the things I love about Hernan's gigs here is that you rarely see photos or videos from them. The majority of the crowd are there for the music.

The party is what you make of it I've always believed. I've been to some gigs where the crowds wasn't into it or just didn't care and still had a great time - but then again, I often wound up going with a crew that I knew were going for a good time, good crowd or not.

If that's true, and I have no reason to believe it's not, that's really awesome to know.

It's pretty hard not to be influenced by those around you , particularly if you are little .
Btw. I take my music very seriously, while I have met and love a few people, for me these gigs are not social occasions. I am always there for the music, and those people are likeminded. I only take offence when those having a "good time " encroach on my loving the music. I have a lovely crew of serious dancers. It's a spiritual thing Guy J next week !!!

Your dedication to the music has always been apparent with your posting history - but I still stand by my assertion that you are in control of the fun you're going to have - the crowd simply compliments it.
Have a blast at Guy J.

^kind of does matter though if you are there. A bunch of twats on their phones is not a good environment to party in.

I couldn't agree more, enjoying yourself takes a back seat - the main thing is to get the pic / video up onto your facebook or twitter or whatever and make sure the world knows you went to a party ffs. I went to see Johnny Marr on thursday, was only 20 ft away fromn him but struggled to see through the sea of fucking iphones, wank..

I think your attitude is admirable, intending to have a good time no matter what others are doing. I also think you're kidding yourself if you think your night out won't suffer if no one else is dancing and everyone is making a shit video.
I have been to many club nights and never even looked into the DJ booth. Come to think of it, it has never crossed my mind to get my phone out of my pocket to take a picture either.

You've never been to Toronto, have you? We're known by many djs and musical artists as the "screwface capital of the world" - reason being that we have a reputation of standing, staring at the artist with indifference on our faces and constantly bitching about how our scene isn't what it used to be.
Seriously, Google the term Screwface Capital, check the top result. We're even in Urban Dictionary.
Every time I've been out with friends - we've very rarely been bored or had the crowd cow us into anything less than a good time - a "fuck everyone and their shit" attitude is a necessity and a matter of survival here if you want to enjoy yourself with the clubbing scene.

i do kind of miss it! especially seeing the lineup for get lost!!! i went for 3 years from '09-'11. but then '11 and '12 i went to sonar. and '13-'15 to bpm. i had kind of talked myself into thinking that wmc had become played out. what with the lack of rooftop parties, being so expensive, the douchebaggery, etc. but looking back over the last six years, and having been to those three big events, i'd still have to say that wmc is where it's at as far as cutting edge music nonstop 24-7! i've liked the structure of bpm and the local of sonar, but wmc is just relentless in terms of the amount of music.
Don't let anyone drive you crazy when you know it's in walking distance.
