They are a good deal ! The great thing about Apples is that they last so long. I only buy second hand , I buy ones that have been upgraded, and sell and replace while they are still working well. I use a desktop. I get years out of them so the actual cost per year isn't a lot.

This makes me feel better Didi... I was a little concerned about buying used.

bought a refurbished one over 2 years ago for one of our daughters, never had a moment's trouble with it & it was 'like new' out of the box.

Whatever you decide to buy, make sure it has an SSD drive instead of the old mechanical stuff... its probably the most impactful single advancement in personal computers in the last decade.

Personally I would've gone for the Surface Pro 3 .. you can find a decent speced one for about 700 on eBay . I just find it more functional overall..

I buy and sell through Ebay. You can do in depth checks on Macs so if anything is wrong you can get your money back through Ebay/Paypal . But I have never had a problem with one.
