    Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck

Watched this the other night on HBO.....

quite possibly one of the worst docs. I've ever seen.

I understand it was trying to show you the how Kurt lived his life but man, I honestly wanted to kill myself after watching it. And when Courtney Love makes her 1st appearance on it and starts talking, then you realize why Kurt killed himself

Root cannel work is more intriguing then this documentary

wow, that's really too bad. Was it just poorly edited? Uninteresting? Or clearly created by people who didn't really know what they were doing? I was a big fan, but after about 25 I completely stopped listening to Nirvana, just too many so-so memories during my life at that time, if that makes sense. But I still enjoy the unplugged album and a few songs from Bleach i suppose. Actually a couple from Incesticide too. I guess the truth is, once a Nirvana fan, always a Nirvana fan, because they really were unparalleled in so many ways. But Courtney Love was and is batshit crazy, too bad for Kurt, she's the last person he needed in his life prolly.

    Respect and RIP.

The doc is just one trainwreck from start to finish. soo many cringe worthy moments with some of these home movies that are added in to it. No one wants to see Courtney Love with Herpes all over her face make out with a Heroin addict. Maybe if I was on acid, I would actually enjoy it.

There are some interesting parts and then it builds up but then it goes right back the shitter

I will always respect Kurt as a musician and Nirvana as a band because lets face it, they really are the last band to come along revolutionize music...

But this documentary almost makes me ashamed to say that I was Nirvana fan

What I meant was, if I hear the Unplugged album I enjoy it, but I don't intentionally play it or seek it out. I've been super busy lately and just typing as quickly as possible and getting back to work. Makes for some pretty disjointed posts, but fuck it.

Speaking about documentaries, "About A Boy" is touching and disturbing. It's a montage of audio tapes of Kurt's voice, retelling all his life from the beginning.

ironically, the guy on the Lithium channel on XM radio was talking about the documentary this morning and of course he loves it (I have not seen it so I won't pass judgment). amusingly, he said "if you don't respect courtney love then you are disrespecting kurt cobain because he was in love with her."

so i'm here to tell you da hype... you don't respect kurt, man.

                        enjoy:

I pursued my passion as a radio DJ, took some risks & landed in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Bill Reid & I track thru Nirvana's Sub Pop debut "Bleach" from start to finish with insightful stories & a rare Kurt Cobain interview.

btw - listening to these^ has reignited my love for this band

ok, I just finished watching this and I did not think it was that bad. I have seen much worse. I guess my only compliant would there stealing another dime from an already drained cow. Let him live in peace. Nirvana will always be one of my favorite bands. I was lucky enough I got to witness the raise and fall of the last great rock band to change music. People can say what they want about Nirvana or Kurt but were would you be if they never got popular. I am not one of those people to get pissy about saying you dislike there music or even this film. Its art and everyone has there own opinion about it.

I have not heard a Nirvana album (but have obviously heard their well known singles), nor is it the type of music I would normally listen to. But I have a genuine question - how did they revolutionise music? I hear so many people say this, and they are very well respected so I'm genuinely interested.
