i think they should legalize it all around, make it like alchohol and then impose the same penalties for DWI. what they dont realize is that you are a lot more coherent when your high rather than when you are drunk.
As there is no chemical roadside test that works unlike achol then this is a legal
minefield imo.
You've kinda got a point here, but you don't need to have blown into a breathalyzer to be convicted on a DWI or DUI -- intoxication can be proven through other means, like your inability to pass a field sobriety test. I kinda like sightless's test...
In the UK the only test is to blow into the bag, then if it comes back red it's down the copshop for a blood test. Rumour has it there is a soberity test like the US version now in use.
IMO the fact there is no roadside test for cannabis is on of the reasons it has not been made legal in the UK, it's just decrimised.

true that. in any case, the field sobriety tests are a joke. they are going to give you a breathalyzer test no matter what, which leads me to believe the cops only do the field tests for their own personal enjoyment and/or power tripping.
i watched my friend as he passed 5--yes 5--field different sobriety tests just outside washington, dc. even so, they knew he'd been drinking and breathalyzed him.
the point is that if i ever get pulled over and they ask me to do field sobriety tests, i will say: no thanks, i know they are BS so just give me the breathalyzer now (you bastards). they may arrest me for not complying or anything, but they will eventually breathalyze me and release me (if i'm sober =)...
