not only is state sovereignty compromised by federal law, but now patients who have been medically prescribed marijuana (and are possibly terminally ill) can go to federal prison.

the one true thing i find disgusting is that in the law making process of america, the bi partisan fighting has lead to the democrats letting manslaughter charges be dropped down to about 3-4 years, while the republicans have made smoking weed in your basement punishable by up to 10 years in prison depending on the amounts of weed they find.

can someone put thier heads together.??

each party is equally stupid and at fault. they are both to blame. leftists want everyone to go to the left and the right wants everyone to their side. how about coming together like we did for about 3 months after 9/11

I read the piece, and it's absolutely outrageous...the balance in the judiciary on these subjects is completely lost. However...that goes for more countries.

Over here its legit by the way, but only growing by govt. approved people, and they have to comply with quite strickt hygienic and legal restrictions.

A federal appeals court concluded use of medical marijuana was non-commercial, and therefore not subject to congressional oversight of "economic enterprise."

But lawyers for the U.S. Justice Department argued to the Supreme Court that homegrown marijuana represented interstate commerce, because the garden patch weed would affect "overall production" of the weed, much of it imported across American borders by well-financed, often violent drug gangs.

As there is no chemical roadside test that works unlike achol then this is a legal
minefield imo.

Am I right in understanding that Justice is challeging because growing weed will lessen the need for criminal gangs to import it. Therefore it makes importing weed a commerical enterprise?
This seems very fucked up to me.
